@Topic: I guess sometimes it's better to release an half-done version than having the final version as a first release, because things tend to get the more unstable the more cool features you add.
Yeah, that's why you release a beta after you finish the entire map in the general sense. (objects, terrain, cps, a few modes) so that then people can (and will, trust me, it happens every time) find bugs and recommend suggestions to make it more fun. Then you release a .80 or whatever number that you feel is closest tot he actual progress done in the map. Then, finally, if there's no more bugs left, you can release a final.

thanks for the info....but er...could somebody please at least start exporting...at this point the models ARE pretty critical to progress...and I have been almost out of action for two or three days because nobody is exporting

ive already downloaded the models, they need ALOT of fixing, they have way too many polies that arent needed, the wireframe was so messed up lookin, ill send the models back to you after i export them and youll see what i mean.
EDIT: the polyflow is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay messed up on some of these models, i dont have the time to spend on fixing everything, ill just do quick fixes but you gotta learn to use the knife tool rather than boolean or adding so many polygons and also theres no need for a cap on the bottom of the buildings, besides one of them had 200 polies on teh bottom cap.
EDIT2: oh yeah, there were empty shadowvolumes and they didnt even have the param sets applied and lowrez models that were just clones of the originals. :S

youll probably have to, the models are such a mess, my lambda model has less polygons than one of your most simple towers.

galacticmarine, I must say that I am a big fan of your models in this Star Wars Battlefront II project. In my opinion, the textures are simply amazing...

Well I am new to the world of modding, but not to the world of modeling. In fact, making models is my favorite part of my map.
PS: PvtParts, I think that should explain my obsession with models XD

Haha yeah it does. I agree models are a great part of any map with..models. I just wish ZE was more like Hammer (hl2) so you could make basically whatever you want with brushes, without having to model it.

i actually like modeling everything for maps, i could never get the hang of map editors like hammer or radiant even though i have them both, ive been making models lately for a map and id rather do it in XSI.

I like radiant, so simple to use. What would make the best editor would be ZE + Radiant :p
