Looking for a little help

Hi guys,

I'm interested in knowing how to make a cave and a tunnel for my map, in order to make a mine entrance and tunnel. I know that it involves creating a model and then putting it into the terrain (and lowering a part of a hillside for an opening), but can someone give me a tip or two as to how to begin creating the model? Does it involve XSI? I haven't created any buildings just yet, so I don't know for sure how it's done. I thought I'd ask here before starting it.

I want to use textures from say, Hoth or Geonosis for the inside of the mine, which brings to mind another question: How do you edit the texture files, such as their color? I tried using my graphics editing program, but the game apparently doesn't recognize the type of .tga file I saved. So I assume a special program (such as XSI) is needed.

If someone could give me a few starting tips, I could probably figure out a lot myself. Appreciate anyone taking the time to help.

Rip

For ingame textures, save as 24 bit, with compression disabled.

Creating caves/tunnels requires mesh files with terrain cutter groups. Other than that, I don't think much progress in them has been attained yet.
