Hello GT

Today I made my own lightsaber with Google Sketchup 7 and I exported it as a Collada file when I was done making it. When i tried to import it in XSI to convert it to msh it would import and nothing would be there
Help me GT, your my only hope!

did you create a null named dummyroot and put the polymesh in it? did you make sure to middle click dummyroot when you exported? Did you make sure to select "convert meshes to triangles", "selection only", and "export xsi normals" in the crosswalk export menu?

No idea, but you should try it with google sketchup's own exporter. That always works for me.

I know, I missread your post. I thought you said it was wrong after exporting from xsi, not when you imported it. Did you scale your model when you got in xsi?sketchup models are huge in comparison to xsi stuff, scale it by .03 and see if you're still having problems.

Precisely, .025 should do it.

I just updated the tutorial, and here's a walkthrough of converting a model:

Sorry it jumps around a bit, I was using the free version of fraps, and you only get to record 30 seconds per video.
