Shipped Maps on mods

Post by {(ss)}E_Pluribus_Unum »

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to use a shipped map (normal game map) on my mod so i can play with all my edited characters on a map people play all the time. I've tried a few things but i bet there's some small thing i'm missing so if anyone could give me a brief tutorial it'd be very appreciated :)

Thanks,
Unum

1: create your sides with unit names the same length or shorter then the units that they will replace
2: move your sides .lvl file into the GameData\data\_LVL_PC\SIDE folder.
3: copy and rename the mission.lvl file in GameData\data\_LVL_PC
4: hexedit the mission.lvl file in GameData\data\_LVL_PC and replace the units on the maps you want with your own.

there's no way to just utilize the files for the world in the BF2_modtools\assets\worlds\***???.
i'm pretty sure i can do it from there just can't quite figure out how to make them compatible.

well if you dont want to do penguins idea than try this:

you could follow this tutorial HERE

that should be pretty simple. its basicly making your own mod map but in the addon folder it is actually a shipped map. also you can edit it if you really want!

Hope that helps
