Custom ingame.lvl for changing CP color?

Post by phazon_elite »

You know in every LUA there's this line, right?

Code: Select all

    ReadDataFile("ingame.lvl")
Is that reading the game's ingame.lvl?

If so, what would you do to have the game read a custom ingame.lvl? I'm on the verge of a breakthrough here (it's a big secret!).

EDIT
I tried a couple methods first, but they crashed, lol. So I just kept it normal.

Since what I tried didn't really work, I'll tell you what I was trying to do...

I looked at com_holo_turret and saw the color. I remembered that it was some shade of green. I thought "Hey! Maybe if I used this hex code for the green on the cp's, they would be green too!". It didn't work...

So there must be something else that affects the cp colors, because my experiment did nothing at all. In the mean time, this can be locked since it doesn't have much use.

I tried changing the color from the ingame before, also from the world odf and side odf folders, you can't change the colors.

Changing CP hologram colors

Post by AceMastermind »

Yeah, I experimented with this a little bit also, I copied all of the necessary odf's, msh's and tga's to my data_ABC/worlds/ABC/odf and msh folders then renamed them, and I was successfully able to change every attribute for the CP hologram except for the colors.....weird.

I'll third that. Spend a couple of days trying to change the color and got the same results as Ace.

That's what I did, change the com_holo_controlzone. I guess it's hard coded?

It must be. Either that, or we're trying to attack it from the wrong angle. (but what angle is left?)

LA is really protective of it's colors. :P
