The long wait is finally over. The 4th PotC movie has finally been announced. The only bummer about this is that Orlando Bloom & Keira Knightley both are not going to be in... along with the director, Gore Verbinski. But never fear! The legendary Captain Jack (Johnny Depp) and the rival Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) are still gonna be in it. Like the rest of you, I am a big fan of PotC and can't wait to see how this plays out.

What? But how? The story is over. Hmm, so it's some sort of prequel? I don't know what to think of it.

The story is not over. They left a nice opening at the end of the last film, and for the purpose of creating this fourth film. This is old news, it's just new news that pre-production seems to be finally ending, and we're approaching the production stages. Of course, the news of no Bloom or Knightley is no new news either, the fourth movie was planned back already to focus mainly between Sparrow and Barbarossa. This news about Verbinski, although the BioShock movie was put on hold , is news, although there was speculation back then as well. Oh well.

It's not a prequel, it's following where the last film left off, with Sparrow and Barbarossa simultaneously hunting the Fountain of Youth, although now it appears that Blackbeard is being thrown into the film mythos as well.

Really? I don't remember any of that... but that's probably because I have a bad memory.

Alright then, I will watch it, I enjoyed the previous movies and I will hopefully enjoy the next one too.

Even though the sequels are messy and inferior to the original I still enjoy them so I'm looking forward to this. I'm not bummed about Will and Elizabeth being excluded -- their story is finished, plus that ridiculous love triangle helped to drag the sequels down. This leaves more room for Jack and Barbossa, and honestly, do we care about anyone else? I just hope that this time the writers leave the humor to Depp, but I doubt they will.

Hence my reaction.

With any live action Disney film there are always going to be rumors about Miley Cryus or Zac Effron joining the cast. They're just rumors.

But yeah, while I'll probably end up seeing this, it'll most likely be on TV a year or two after the release. The original movie was good, but IMO, they ruined it after that.
