XSI doesnt recognizes reapplied enveloping

i had this problem already several times before.
i select an enveloped model, select all points and save their weighting. Then i export it as obj or select all polys and extract them, but when i reenvelope it again (with the same preferences) and reapply the weighting, its all messed up.
does anybody know how to get rid of that issue?
