i upgraded my PC last weekend and now i want to install SWBF1 but it doesn´t work . I got data cap read errors in both CD2 and 3.
I also tried the LA tech support solution to copy the whole discs to my HD but i got also the error messages while i try to copy it on the HD.

I installed the game last year one time with succsess and then i never touched CD 2 and 3 anymore and now they are broken? I can´t believe that.
Could it be any kind of software protection wich has trouble with winXP service pack 2 or anything else? I remember that there wasn´t winxp SP2 out last year when i installed it first time.
Any ideas? Help?

I had the same issue with this and several games once I upgraded to a new dvd burner / reader drive. I installed newer drivers believe it or not and it fixed it but sounds like it canr read the discs, or the speed at which is copying to other locations is too slow. What did you upgrade rends? Its not copy protection. Is the same cab files giving the error each time you try? What is the file name giving errors?

i upgraded motherboard (gigabyte) CPU (Athlon64 3200) and RAM (1024MB) but Pioneer106 DVD burner is still the same.

I get errors in data3 (CD2) and Data4 (CD3) cap files. Yes i guess it´s always the same.

So i havn´t installed any DVD burner drivers. I use the winXP ones.

just talked with my online dealer and i will get a new copy of the game.
