Ok, so I've had this argument numerous times among me and some of my friends to see which is the better game, Star Wars Battlefront 2 or Battlefield2142. I keep on telling them that BF2 is better, but they don't listen. I tried giving them some sites of mods that will improve their game like the patch 1.3 and the Convo Pack, but they don't want it. They tried an earlier version of the Convo Pack and said that it really messed up their computers and wont try it again. I said that only happened once, and you learn from your mistakes. Also, now the Convo Pack has a automatic installer, so it does everything for you but they don't want it since it "opens the door to viruses" and such. I want to make a poll to see which game is better and show it them so they can see for themselves. I myself, say that SWBF2 is better.

I've never played any of the Battlefield games, but don't you think this poll is kind of lopsided? I mean, this forum is for people who enjoy SWBF2, and only some play Battlefield 2142.

Most likely SWBF2 will win.

100% Agreed. However, even though the majority may choose SWBF2, iwould go with BF2142

Hmm, SWBF2 is fun for all the mod maps, but I think BF2142 is better than it. Not trying to say SWBF2 stinks or whatever, they're both good games, but BF2142 is better in my opinion.

It's true, I put all sorts of viruses in that. The funny thing is that the thousands of people - who've already downloaded it from sites that should verify that there aren't viruses on that kind of thing - aren't complaining.

I've had bad experiences with BF2142, more because of the "support" EA provides (or lack thereof) and less because of the content. I can't say I like that game but to be fair I can't accurately judge it.

I say Battlefield 2 is better than Battlefield 2142. I found SWBF2 more enjoyable than 2142.

I wanna get BF2 since it deals with modern warfare and I just love modern warfare. Flying in fighter jets and sinking destroyers...

Yes Battlefield 2 and BF 2142 are equally good. I mean please, NOTHING in the universe of objects in SWBF 2 are movable. You set of a grenade near one and it stands still as if nothing happened. Gameplay is also not good at ALL. I mean it is some but the sprinting. You can go 3 miles doing a sprint jump as a regular soldier. I mean it doesn't even physics. The only reason I still play this game is cause of the convo pack and plan to make a mod that changes all of the above.

You want good physics? Get a game using the Source engine. Such as, say, Half-Life 2.

I think I tried the demo of Battlefield 2 one time, but it didn't really catch my interest.

I like space.


Battlefront is, so far, the only game that's even come close to multiplayer space combat. I mean, I would prefer an Ender's Game-esque style of troop and ship combat, but I don't think even modern engines can handle that.

Plus, I just generally like the battlefields more in Battlefront, like Bespin and Mustafar.

Not true. I can't speak for X-Wing Alliance (although I would imagine it has it too), but I know that its predecessor, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, was multiplayer online space combat, and it was pretty fantastic (as is the standard for that series). If you haven't given it a try, see if you can buy it somewhere; I remember having lots of fun with it (and in looking at some info for it I see now that it still supports an online playerbase).

Yet another space multiplayer game is a Source mod named Eternal Silence.

That's more of the "soldier/flyer" hybrid junk that SWBF2 uses, not a real space combat sim.

Battlefield 1942 was and still is my favourite in the BF Series. I prefer 2142 over Battlefront 2 though.

My Cousin beat Half - Life 2 and is giving it to me . But still, that's HL 2. I'm talking about Star Wars. Battlefront 2, if in the right modder(s) hands could make Battlefront 2 to an experience that you've never seen before.
