Off-Topic: I couldn't imagine a more fascinating way to present a post than Linus' one during his time a Lev's Padawan. But you again expand the meaning of "posting" ^^

On-Topic:Archer, could you give a rough % of how much is already done ?

@adrenalinshake
This one will be single player only. I could have "attempted" to make it multiplayer worthy, but that would have required a redesign of what I originally had in mind. Depending on the final result, I may make another more "involving" story mission and I could make it multiplayer worthy. But as I said before, this is (in part) a trial run to get an idea of what I can do with this game and it's engine.

@Protector_Pulch
Terrain: 99%
Conquest: 95%
Storymode: Around 65% (maybe, see below)

The story is almost scripted out to the point that it can be played through to it's end. It's not much longer than one of the game's campaign missions (if you "speed run" through it), but since the objectives are not clearly marked (given through character dialog) it may take a little longer to figure out where to go. My biggest problem right now is trying to find a way to keep it interesting until the climax of the mission. Since health packs are almost non-existent, I can't make the savage NPC encounters too common. Massive running has also been a problem so I'll be moving some of the characters around so it isn't so bad. I may add in some "side-quests" to it too, but that will take even more time to complete and test.

Unfortunatly, I would be a lot further than I am right now but personal issues have been keeping me busy the last little while, and will continue to do so until they are resolved. Don't get me wrong, I'm still working on the map, but it's going more slowly than it was before. Sorry if you or anyone else was hopeing to try this map out in the 'near' future, but it's still going to be a little while yet.

No problem. We all wait for BaE since "somewhere in the past"( around 1500 b.C.)^^
So what does a month or two mean ? The vast majority of us have real lifes,which are a very effective way to waste time.

Sorry for asking, archer01, but can you post some brand-new screenshots from the concerned modification ?...

I'll post a few more screens if you wish, but as you've probably heard from xwingguy many times before, most of the changes so far are scripting related so there isn't really anything "visually" new. Also, many of the latest changes I've made happen later on in the mission, and I don't want to ruin anything that might be a surprise.

Since you were kind enough to make the bartender skin, I have put that in there at least. I've also tried putting MasterSaitek009's civilian skins in there too, but for some reason the tat luke's cloth isn't being displayed (despite the changes I've made to the odfs). I haven't looked into why the cloth isn't working yet, but I'll get around to it before release. Right now I'm more focused on finishing the story objectives, then adding in the sidequests. Stuff like fixing the cloth and textures will have to wait until the level is finished to the point of being playable.

Here's the screens:

NOTE -> Stuff I plan on changing (as it relates to the screens)
- The same civilian face all over the town isn't all that interesting, so I'm going to try to get at least three types of civilians in the town (three different model meshes). MasterSaitek009's civilian design will be one of them.
- The Black Sun characters will be the source of the side quests. I will be adding them in later (when I start work on the side quests themselves).
- I will likely be switching the bartender to Linus' darker haired design. I think it would fit into the scene a little better.
- The Nomadic Hunter (see the screens) will be changed to a wookie model, or something more rough looking.

It's still moving slowly, but it'll get there eventually. :P

I see more dialogue - does this mean that you've managed to make the talk weapon perform more consistently? (Or at all?) You're looking good.

That was exactly my idea when I sent you the skin. Would you like a couple more Black Sun skins, and maybe another civilain? This level is going to be wicked sweet :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: .

Just a quick question archer01.

How did you get the units to stand and/or walk around casually?

Just wondering, will you remove anything that isn't story mode ? I think it would be could to battle amongst all the civilians, so you could keep GCW: Conquest , for example.

Voice Acting

Are you planning on adding voice to the objective screen, or maybe just proximity chat (The code for that, what with regions and checking if character has moved or died. . .will be ugly, but ya never know)

Anyway, it might be a good idea to put up a voice clip submission thread with lines to read now as opposed to later so that they are ready when you want them. It could be in contest format.

Oh, what am I saying, no one on gametoast has a good voice. Let's face it, we're all a bunch of computer nerds. . .

Wait, computer nerds who can audio edit. . .
