I'm not sure "necktilting" quite fits, though. Does it?
The term you are looking for is "kip-up."

:themoreyouknow:

The animation is neato, but the feet need a little more splay, as you mentioned.
I was hoping to see mav use that smiley :funny2:

...but again....HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS OFF THE TOP OFF YOUR HEAD!!!!. Thats not human

Anyway, great animation

thank you very much, but: how long does it take to get it working like this?

the animation? the basic movement didnt take long, but the tweaking. the hardest part was to make the legs and arms move realistically within the flight.

on a note:
dont try it that way at home!
if you want you should really do it on a mat/blanket. i also recommend to use your hands to push your knees forward/upward instead of pushing yourself up once you are in the air. and dont wonder when your back- and neckmuscles ache the next day, then you did it right!

Awesome!
In my point of view, it would look even more appealing if you could have it so the cockpit's opened up. Then again, that would only make sense if you were making this for a vehicle animation, not just for an animated prop.

(wish I could figure out how to make animations)

The kip-up animation was amazing! I was waiting for someone to make one like that.
(although the part where he gets back up looks a bit to "cheesy", people who do that don't make a circular motion when doing that move, they more of arc down.
It's kind of hard to explain. I have a friend, he's 18, he can do this on about any surface, including asphalt and concrete, it's quite cool to see!)

thanks for the comment! about the circular motion: i know i exaggerated the forwardthrust a bit because i had to get the unit from the lying on back position and i couldnt change the location because then there would habe been a "jump" in the transition from fall to getup or from getup to stand. so the forwardmovement had to be exaggerated and i figured it would look better if i also exaggerated the upwardmovement too. i can also do a (rather low) kip up and maybe ideally people who really mastered it probably can fly a circular curev :P

with this animation, you could start with making new anims for Darth Maul, like we see in Episode 1 (the kick from him, when he fights against qui gonn :D ).

here is a little video about two new anims i have made
video

Edit: here is an other one :D

nice, you should rename the buffanim to _upper instead of _full (or add the _upper at the end if you didnt have _full before). the anim will only affect the upperbody then.
for the shootinganimation it would look better if mostly the arms and shoulders would move from the recoil rather than the whole upperbody. the troopers would really have a problem with their back after a few years otherwise!

Ok folks, lets make this clear. There are now 2 binoculars animations out there, KinetosImpetus's(not publicly released)
And naru's
@Naru: It is decent, but I think it needs some improvement. The hands aren't holding the binoculars very well. The buff anim looks really great, I Concur with D.U.C.K. about the fire animation.

Ummm... Is it the emperor's death anim? Anyways it looks awesome!!! BUT! The guy falls very "animated" I would recommend making him accelerate as he falls, that would make him look like he was a two-hundred pound human and not a piece of paper  . It's still arsome though and I can't wait to play it ingame.
