Tatooine Dusk of War

The desert planet Tatooine became once more the voucher of a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the forces of the Separatists. This time a real battle began in a colonial city in the middle of the desert. The Separatists planted orbital turrets against space battleships in the city to resist a big invasion force of the republic. Instead the republic battleships didn't came close out of hyperspace and sent LAAT/is and LAAT/cs to the surface. The landing didn't proceed very well and many gunships were shot down. The republic worked out conquering the main part of the city though and is defending it now against the Separatist's forces which are spread all over the city. The Clones try to deactivate the orbital guns but it doesn't seem to work so they have to fight back with what they got and hold the lines.

Special Features
There are some special features for each team. Both teams have a air support computer which allows them to get support through air units. For the CIS it's a bombing run on the republic units. For the Republic it's a gunship which will hover over the battlefield. If the computers are destroyed the air control will end.

Looks good, judging from the one screenshot you posted. Why is it called Dawn of War? And why the Polis Massa sky?

Thank you guys and it's called Dawn of War of war because I thought it would be matching since there was no big battle on Tatooine so far. It's not a map which is Lucas Arts history proven.
I thought that Tatooine at night would be something cool so that's why this sky.

this looks really good. the title Dawn of War reminded me of the game Dawn of War and i was wondering if someone finally made a mod of that. this is just as good though, it looks perfect, i like the lightning effect.

(hmm the post i made seems unorganized)

the map seems pretty fun but imo i think a diffrent sky would work alot better

I too like the sky... i just have one question, the title still confuses me so is it the dawn of war for the planet or is it supposed to be early in the war? (in that case the phase 2 troops would confuse me but that is why i asked)
Can't wait to play this map!

I've been waiting for this map to get released! I do like the air support, however I recommend lowering the repetitiveness of the motions of the hovering gunship. (if you haven't since you sent me a version.) The sky looks really nice, and I like the hero, too.

I realize you're aiming for a nightime setting, but the Polis Massa sky seems a bit too flamboyant, imho. The blazing nebula there kind of clashes with the Tatooine buildings. Perhaps a slightly modified Naboo sky would fit better?

since tatooine has only one big city(it's capital) and tatooine's cities aren't so bright,i think the sky would be very clear, even here on earth there are parts where you can see nebulas with your own eyes at night so i think the sky is ok.

Actually, Wookiepedia lists 16 major cities on Tatooine.

Seems reasonable for a planet that's one giant desert and rather unpopular with decent folk to begin with. It's certainly more than 1.

i kinda just like the nebula in the sky, naboo sky is a bit boring compared to it.

Personally I like the sky. It makes it feel like you're on some exotic world. (which is the way it should feel. It's Star Wars Dangit, it should feel exotic) imo, It shouldn't feel like some world that's just like earth (cough... Naboo... cough)

It depends if you want to make it realistic or not. Tatooine has no nebulae near it(you can see this many times throughout A New Hope), so none would be visible. However if you don't care about it being accurate, then go ahead and use it. I've used it before, much to people's disdain.

I think the map is fine with the current sky you have now. It's as realistic as giving Tatooine a blue sky. As for the name of the map, going off Fiodis's query, I think "Dusk of War" would be more reasonable. It could be meant literally or figuratively, as in the Clone Wars is drawing near its end, given that your clone units have Phase II armor already. Just a suggestion.
