We also got a release date.
Mark your calendars, boys. We face GLaDOS again on February 9th.

I warn you now, do not watch the following if you want to solve every single puzzle on your own. It's sort of a mini-glimpse of a tutorial for these levels... On the other hand, it might help you with thinking laterally with the new features.
New single player demo from Gamescom featuring your new companion (and Excursion Funnels of liquid asbestos:

And the new Aerial Faith Plate, Repulsion Gel, and Propulsion Gel:

I was expecting a more elaborate demonstration, but that's fine I guess. At least now we know what the androids actually look like in game.

You want an elaborate demonstration?
Ask and you shall recieve, thanks to PAX 2010:
WARNING: PUZZLE-SOVLING SPOILERS
Do NOT view if you wish to solve all puzzles on your own. Granted, most of these are pretty easy, anyway.
Part1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N503mycNuyk&feature=sub
Part2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BPsrWNY ... re=channel
Part3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAUtRyUs ... re=channel
Part4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzB5gY5p ... re=channel

All in all, it's about 10 mins long. Demonstrates the first four simple levels.

EDIT: New, longer co-op trailer, low quality, sorry:

Seen those already, and I still think that's kind of simple for Portal, it's just some "what if the Portal Gun could shoot four portals instead of just two?" sort of challenges, well, with the exception of the last one. :P

But I really doubt this is the real deal, back when we only had brief glipses of the original Portal in trailers and such, they showed us some pretty simple puzzles, such as that one with the firepit in the middle of the room and the spikes coming down from the ceiling, that puzzle never made it into the final version of the game, but it served it's purpose well enough, it showcased how the Portal Gun could be used to get out of trouble and reach unacessible areas. I believe this is the case here, they are just showing us something basic that their level designers have thrown together in their spare time, just as a demonstration of the premise.

Well, despite my ramblings, I am going to buy this as soon as it gets released, I mean, it's Portal, man... how can you go wrong? :P

*sigh* Valve delays the release of a highly anticipated game. So what else is new?

Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess were two games which were delayed, and turned out to be actually really good. I'd rather wait through a year of delays than play a less-than-stellar game.

Valve delays games, that's completely normal; it is also why they are good, because they prefer to take the time to revise their work instead of releasing a half-done product as soon as possible.

Anyone else see slight irony in the fact they're releasing it on 4-20? So at least we'll have time to get started before the stoner gamers can get clear enough heads to solve puzzles and post spoilers?

Snagdabbit... I should've learned from the last couple of times but it still sucks :(

O well, then again, maybe it is why Valve makes awesome games, by not sticking to deadlines.

I thought they were going to use this design: http://www.videogamesblogger.com/wp-con ... rtwork.jpg.

But oh well, she looks ok I guess.

Same here, but with a name and description like that, either they are going to do it or Valve has reached an entirely new level of troll-ness. :P

I think they would, but not in the Gordon Freeman will walk in and help you.

I think the timeline goes

HL, Portal, HL2(Episodes), Portal 2 (the spaces show time*)
