He'll put in what he wants, not what you want.

Campaign would be goood, but it takes time, lots of it. It took mer an hour or so of just scrolling through shipped scripts to get my first objective.

Sorry, I've been gone and am purely addicted to Portal. :D Anyway, School is about over, and then I will be able to do a LOT.

I actually want to have partial destructo weapons for all units, and then a Super-Uber-Kill-Them-All type unit as an unlockable.
Grev wrote:For ewoks, how about a chaingun that fires ewok spears?
That might be a good idea!
ARC_Trooper_phi658 wrote:you had me up until the jawas and tuskens with the rainbow colored guns. (seriously, could you explain why you chose that?)

The layout actually looks like something I would like to play. I think you are pretty faithful to the depictions of Bespin itself in the movie.

Are you really doing a campaigne? Because that is just phenonminal.
*sighs* Well, ever since I played one of Dann's maps, I always wanted my ZeroEdit to work so I could make awesome Chaos like that, so now I want to!

I seriously think it doesn't look that movie-like yet. From what I remember, (I haven't seen the movie in years) Bespin was much different.

Yes, that is mostly the point of the series. I wanted something sort of like the 607th, where you learn to know the characters and are waiting for the next installment. (I've never played the 607th, so correct me if I'm wrong.) but didn't want another Clone Wars! ZOMG! thing. (I liked the GCW better than the CW.)
So yes. I'm doing a campaign.

I will add new skins.
And I will add some kind of cool unit like that.

Uh, oh. Well, I'm using the Mission Scripter, although I'm not sure if it works. I don't really plan to do much for Bespin, just some simple objectives.

Despite the lack of interest, I've still been working on this. I've begun mapping up the tunnel system that I've always pictured Bespin to be, along with adding turrets, editting sides, and getting very frustrated with the flyers. If you want ANY kind of weapon model, prop, skin, or whatever that you think would fit into the map, (and don't spam me a whole bunch of crazy crap for Assault. I've got Assault mostly figured out in my mind, but any new weapon models would be great) So anything that'd fit into GCW Bespin. I'm not going to edit the sides for CW, so don't go begging for a super-35 lightsaber-uber-jet packing-infinite health-Grevious. I'M NOT GOING TO EDIT CW SIDES!!!

On a lighter note, you can always check my XFire profile for pictures that I may have taken, and continue to check this thread for updates.

EDIT
No one seems to care about my map!

Na... It's okay. I just scetched up a few dates for some stuff:
Hidden/Spoiler:
May 16-18: Private Beta sent. I already have a rough outline of who I'm going to send it to, so just deal with it.

May 22-26: This will be the 1.0 release of the map. Depending on how much is accomplished, I may or may not include Campaign. I'm kind of leaning to no-Campaign for the first release.

June: Release of second map. It it going to be fairly easy in my eyes. More info like story when the beta of Bespin is shipped.
After this weekend, I'll have lots more time to work. Lots. Currently I'm working on fixing the texture problem via tons of clouds. Unfortunately, they're causing the first bit of lag in the map, so I may need to thin them up a tad. Flyers still aren't working, and I also added a system of tunnels in the back of the city, where I may include a secret area. I edited more on Assault, now there are some sweet skins, including a Jawa that looks like a Shy Guy. It was completely accidental to.

I'll try to update with some screens tomorrow, but in the meantime, just hope you're on the beta list.

EDIT:
Sorry for double post!

Dude, how are you having problems with flyers? You just need them in the side req, the .lua, and a spawn point!

I don't see how there's a lack of interest. Most the map threads that have tons of pages are either maps made by veterans, maps that have tons of screens, or both. Sure seems like folks are interested in your map to me.

Personally I thought it was the first.

I'm not sure. I've checked the side and objects in ZE, but nothing seems to help it. Maybe it's the regions, but all you need is a Control region, right?

And sorry about me whining about the, "No interest." I guess it's just because all the other WIP threads have a whole bunch of spam making it seem big. I won't be able to get pictures tonight, but after what Teancum said, there's going to be an onslaught tomorrow or the next day.

Actually, Waz is right there were other Bespin maps made but very few. For instance there was Bespin: Streets and a lot of remakes of the two BF1 Bespin maps but by the looks of this map its going to be one of the best :thumbs

Bespin: Streets and Plattforms as you mentioned are remakes of BF1 maps and this is the first custom map if im not wrong, and it looks very promising
you could add some imperial and rebel landing crafts as props on some of the plattforms

I think your confused with the old BF1 Bespin: Cloud City map. Bespin: Streets was a BF2 map only and was made by Jeffcorn, click on the Bespin: Streets link above if you think I'm wrong  Jeffcorn's map is only in Hero Assault though so this would be the first custom Bespin map in "Conquest" mode.

I remembered Streets just after I posted.

Now those are the ideas I like! Any more ideas like this (or weapon models I can put in Conquest) would be mostly appreciated!

Also, as a request, can someone give me a Commander-looking Imp Officer? Kind of like the one in Mercury's space interior map. I'm tired of the SWAT-looking guy.

I'm going to have trouble with Locals. I want three teams, one Imp, one Reb, and one Bespinian (Is that even right?) team. The Imp team will have Darth as hero, and for locals I'll have Fett and some Stormies. For Rebs, Luke as hero aned Chewie and Leia as local team. For Bespinian, Lando as general and some Han and Reb Marksman reskins for other units. This probably won't be completed for this release, and if it is, it will probably be pretty sloppy.

I'll have a bit of time to work tonight, so expect some screens. I plan on adding turrets to the city tonight.

I'm almost done with the ZE part of the map, then it'll just be side editting until this release is done. I'm getting locals ingame right now, then some minor updates, then the private beta release! Yay!

Dude, unless sides editing is small, and already planned, then sides will take you some time. It is not only the most fun part, but also the most challenging and addicting. I wouldn't promise anyone a quick release until you're sure about your sides. And whats with the THIS IS A BUG REPORT ME turrets?

For this release, there will be hardly any side editting. All there may be will maybe some editted weapon values, but otherwise default.
Grev wrote:And whats with the THIS IS A BUG REPORT ME turrets?
No idea. That's what I was asking the community about. It may be a localize error, but I don't know how to fix it.

Dann had them in one map. Its fixable through localizations. Or there may just be a better version of the turret.
