I changed a few com.odf file names example
com_rep_weap_inf_rifle....
and did the same in the sides folders i made sure everything pointed back to parent file with above wording.
after i munged the files started game as soon as i loaded a map the game crashed back to desktop???
any help would be greatly appreciated

By the way in case you don't know the modtools.exe needs to be in the
C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData folder
Its basicly a version of SWBF2 that creates a log of everything that happens, Usualy including the things that go wrong.

Well, it depends on what exactly you did, and whether you munged the Common side, which in VisualMunge is listed in the dropdown menu with the other sides, as opposed to the Common folder which is included in the munge via the checkbox. In this case, when you munged the sides, you should've picked "Everything".

Btw, you're sure you've taken care of all the children those parent files will affect? It's possible you missed something.

Off Topic: MercuryNoodles, you pwn me online...

Also, Caleb, that avatar is hilarious!

On Topic: I think you shouldn't have done that, that needs a ton of editing and changing names and all that insane jazz. I suggest not doing that again when doing odf work.

And wouldn't changing the name layout (like from com_weap_inf_rifle to com_inf_rifle) screw it up a little?

The last thing is, is that using that naming scheme is actually for doing something called the AdditionalUnit, as seen in ]v['s +123...uh...mod, map, hybrid thing (and in his glamour units thread!).

Changing the names around doesn't really do anything, so long as everything is properly linked. The naming scheme just makes it more organized, so one can easily find something.

Off topic: lol I've played a lot, so I have a few tricks up my sleeve. :P

I found the problem 1 file mislabeled thanks for pointing out the modtools.exe was a huge help in locating which file it was.

thanks again
