Benevolent Sarlacc- A trial of Fear

Hello, Gametoasters.
Here I am again with a completely random question about something entirely unconventional.
I'm trying to make the sarlacc eat you and not kill you, then when you get to the bottom you teleport to a chamber that represents its stomach.
I looked in the Sarlacc and the Tentacle's ODFs and MSHs and Animations and changed some relevant looking things in the tentacles:

The AttachTrigger lines all had the word "die" before the last quote mark.
TrackDeathOnAttach used to equal 1.
Does anybody know how to make it not kill you?

Couldn't you make it so when you fall in immedietly you teleport to the stomach? :stormie:

The main problem with that being that by that time, you'de be dead.
Tourny, what were the results of the setup you have posted there?

thats how he wants to do it but you die instantly when you get grabbed

Basically what happens is that it picks you up, you flail around, and you do actually last longer than you would without the changes... and then you die when it lets go...

That's a small accomplishment, at any rate.
Is the death instantanous?
When it lets go, where does your body fly? Does it rest on the ground or fall through the ground or what? This is probably irrelevant, but is all that I can think of.

EDIT: I have found out, however, that if you leap into its stomach from above you fall right in and it has no idea.

Change the trigger for the tentacle's grab to something small. It won't notice you; the "trial" will still be there as you have to walk into it.

you could probably make a teleport region not to far into the sarlacc itself (i do not know about scripting, perhaps someone more knowledgeable could explain) this would work fine to the effect you are aiming for but i dont think i would be very smooth,unfortunately.

To extrapolate furhter on my post:
There must be a trigger of some sort, probably regulated by ODF lines, that tell when the Sarlacc is to grab and eat you in-game. Since it's the tentacles that are animated, and the tentacles that grab you (not the stomach - that'd be wierd) then it must be the tentacles that the trigger controls. As a rough guess, this trigger may be a proximity type one, similar to the animated doors found on various maps. If you can change the proximity radius to something extremely small, then the result would in theory be just an animated prop: a Sarlacc that waved its tentacles around like normal but didn't even try to grab you (unless you were hit by a stray tentacle - then you'd be dead). From this, you'de be able to set up a scenario in which you have to walk straight into the thing (but are not grabbed by tentacles), and you fall through its mouth into a chamber (or teleport region - not difficult at all script-wise) that resembles its stomach.
The only difference between this and your original planned "Trial of Fear" would be that in your plan, you are grabbed and tossed into the stomach without your consent or death afterwards. In this proposal (assuming it can be done - hanve't checked through too many ODFs) you would have to walk in of your own accord. Perhaps walking in of your own free will might be more hesitative even than being flung in.
As I said, however, I'm not entirely sure it can be done. A quick comparison of the Tantive Door's odf and the Tentacle's odf revealed no obvious trigger ODF lines on the Tentacle's part, though there weren't any "TriggerRadius" lines in the Door's ODF, either.
I attempted to rig a Tentacle ODF in the style of an animated prop rather than an Animated Death Trap. Try this:

not entirely sure if this is posible....but have the teleport region cover the whole mouth, so that it teleports you right away, but have the teleport trigger a video(of before, when you just got tossed around and died), then the video fade and you arive from the teleport. if it works it would be beautiful.

No one has figured how to add new videos yet as far as I know, so thats not possible.

Yes, that is impossible, and anyway what I posted would be a heck of a lot easier than any rough work-around you could devise in place of a video. How about it, Tourny?

I think with your help I found the "TriggerRadius" line in the tentacle's ODF. In which case, I will need to use a disebodied voice of some sort to alert the player of the trial and give them some reason to walk in- As they probably wouldn't have any reason to. I would still like to get it to grab you because it's more fun to be grabbed and not die and most people would do it anyway. I suppose I can get Vat to help with devising a proper execution of the trial. If there's another way to make the grab not kill you, I'm all ears.

Note that the small redius trick will make it so it doesn't grab you.
Eh. it would be interesting if you could pull this off exactly the way you want it to; then I'd be able to have a gladiator fight inside a Rancor's "stomach". Or make a "train" in which you are grabbed by a prop with ZE anims and carried away....hmm.

concerning the videos: master skywalker and redline got custom videos to work:

thy can be only played at the begin of the map though

I would give a lot to know how to do that. Did they post any tutorials or links?
Also, how sure are you that they didn't edit the xfire vid?

i am absolutely shure he didnt, there is a discussion about this somewhere, maybe its linked in the everythingyounnedthread
but why dont you ask redline himself if its a fake and how he did it?
