Ok, i've got some good map ideas, but i cant even get my first map to work.
so i was wondering if anyone wanted to try to hear my idea and make a map to fit it.
Even though i need modders, i also want this mod to be extremely high quality (hence why im not going to wreck it by making it my first map), so if you would like to do this map you have to be committed and you should be able to work with what description i can give.
I might need someone to do some modeling work too.
The map's name will be the Corral Vanda.
If anyone wants more info, please don't hesitate to ask!
thanks!

Why don't you just provide every single bit of information anyway? More people would be interested. Is this just a request to have other members make a map for you or are you going contribute something other than ideas?Nightfall wrote:If anyone wants more info, please don't hesitate to ask!

Sounds more like a request than a group effort to me.

Everyone has map "ideas"... if you want someone to be committed to fulfilling your request, you basically need to show more commitment to your idea yourself first. That is, coming up with a specific map layout at the very least and then publicly spelling out what you are after, posting all the details. Secrecy doesn't entice anyone to step forward.
And even then, if someone makes the map (which is where all the hard work comes from), you'd have to be prepared for most of the credit to be attributed to the mapper e.g. "Amazing map, released by MapperX, (with a bit of help from Nightfall)".
I'd recommend just learning how to map for yourself first; it'll make you a better map designer and after you've released a few amateur maps you'll learn from the critical feedback and establish some cred to possibly entice other modders to join with you for any larger scale maps you want to work on.

A lot of good points, i guess my desperation to see the completion of my vision took away from the practice that i'd need to see it finished myself.

Hey come on! I've learned to map 6 days ago, so the basics are not that complicated.
Just face to the fact that you'll need to do some work as well, which would eventually reward you with the satisfaction of actually making something.
