Well, at this rate Sony'll probably quit the console market. The PS3 sales are horrid, and the console itself sucks.

Even better.
Two Blu-Ray players! And a toaster.
Slated to cost U.S. $5000. Complementary pair of 3-D glasses, because the graphics are
just. that. real.

Are you sure that ain't fake?
Funnily enough, I heard that Sony said they wouldn't even consider a PS4 for a very long time, since they think a Playstation 3 is powerful enough for the moment.

great, now all you need is a mini-fridge, and we're open for business.

Well, to be honest, I don't know the exact price. All I was told was that in Japan,
it's over ¥9000.

It looks like a half-pipe.
Its a toaster-griller-cooler-halfpipe-bulgular alarm-washing machine-ninja-robot-ferbie that costs $74
I think sony has lost their ways anyways, and I doubt they are already makeing s 4th playstation. I remember sony made something called the PSX a while back and people thought it was the next playstation, but but it was only available in china or whatever. Thats probabley what it is, some experimental game consule.

A reminder that it's "OVER 9000!", so it doesn't technically need to be $74

I think what he ment was the over promise under deliver thing. One of the main things was backwards compatability. PS2 played the vast majority of the PSOne disks (Was there any that it didn't?) but the PS3 has probs with both PS2 and PSOne. In fact, they had to run a patch just to get the guitar hero series to work with it, and even now the controller doesn't work, even with the adapter (Last I heard). Sales are low because it is very expensive for a console that doesn't do everything it promised and slow on releasing games (that part isn't sony's fault, but it hurts them).
They are also using technology that is not fully accepted as standard by society (Think of all those beta player owners out there) with no way as of now to change the format if the other format wins without spending more money (xbox 360 does). And when they do (if blu-ray looses the format war), You'll be adding another $200 (approx) to a $600 piece of equipment. I'd prefer to wait it out and spend the 600-800 dollars on a PC or that dual format hd disk player.
So to sum it up, sales are slow because of people like me. We don't want to dish out the money until it becomes cheaper, gets the bugs worked out fully, more content, and when there is only one HD disk format on the market. Heck, I might buy it if the first three are met.

The ironic thing, though, is that by underperforming in the eyes of consumers, Sony may have actually been the harbinger of its own doom for adding the Blu-Ray format; that is, it may be the reason Blu-Ray loses the format battle.

I think their going for a hotter style......this time it'll be hot enough to melt metal!!! Yet be able to cook a reasonable steak.
I'm never gonna get anything that has anything to do with
Playcrap
station. They completely failed with the
PS3, and I already consider the
PS and
PS2 complete failures. Considering that no good games are made.
Here's my ranking
1st. Xbox 360
2nd. Wii
3rd. PS3 (If there was any other new console out now, I would put it before this)
Oh ya, ^that^ is also the order of sales at this time....and forever.

Not to burst your bubble, Karnage, but the PS2 did rather well for itself. I believe it was the best-selling console in the last generation. The only thing it didn't have going for it was Halo.
Also, the Wii has outsold the Xbox 360 every month (I believe) since it came out, and looks as though it will continue to do so. Barring some meteoric rise of the 360, predictions have the Wii topping total 360 sales this upcoming September, despite the 360 being released a year earlier than the Wii.
