I just came up with an idea for a new map pack, and it was to use the stock assets from each world and create a different environment in which to play in. The main focus will be on land maps, allthough we could include 2-3 space maps. I really think this is a good idea, but I wont be able to accomplish it on my own, and would need others to help me with this map pack.
I suggest we post what planet or environment we would like to create, and I'll add it to a list that I'll keep updated in the first post.
This is open to all mappers and modders, and I plan on releasing this map pack to the public after we have done at least one map for every planet or environment, so feel free to join in.

I call Kashyyyk. To add to what you already have, we can have EVERY stock map redone and make an entire mappack for them.

That's the plan, except we are mainly focusing on doing land maps. Maybe two or three space maps, with a space staion in the middle? But yeah, I'll add ya to the list!]

Um... I think I should keep it resticted to one map per person. That way more of us here at GT can have a go at creating a map.

K. But the more I think about it, is it really worth redoing the space maps? I mean, using stock assets, we couldn't do much. I think better land maps and no space is better than ok land maps and not very interesting space.
Are we just recreating the level? Making it better and such? Should I included Campaign in my Hoth?

Agreed, this does need its own thread, I tried but they locked it...

I was thinking that gametoast needs to invite all modders out there no matter how noob to step up to the plate and have a shot at it. I want to make a christmas map where people can make there lot (like in dynamic map idea) and decorate it and mod it to there specifications and showcase what they can do. Whether it be objects, models, units (just make an odf and display it in a glass case or something to show off what it WOULD look like). Vehicles are welcome but as long as destruction is not it's theme. Let's remember the holidays guys. I am proposing this now so I can have a good head start to learn the stuff needed to do this. I have a small problem though, and that is modeling will take forever for me as my computer is nearing it's final gasp. I am hoping this will fly as I will need the assistance of some advanced modders too. I am willing to learn, but I still have school and stuff. What do you guys think?

Why not? It is collaboration. Good for modders and beginners.
EDIT:
Another map idea.
A "dynamic" map, with modern assets (DMI assets, Caleb's assets...) where GT members can play as civilians. The members wich are connecting to the map is MP mode can explore the city, find details and support, chat with other members, etc. All members have a "talk" function:
when the player use the talk function, a dialog box appear with into a citation of the member with who he talks.
GT city.
But that's really hard to make.
