No, its won't load any custom heroes. DC: is needed to load a custom side arrangement or units. It could be crashing because he has custom units replacing the default heroes but the game can't load custom units, looks for the default units, can't find them since he replaced them in the .lua and crashes. Just add dc:, and the map should stop crashing.

first of all to everyone who says you need to have a custom side to change the hero you are wrong and he's not worried about custom sides also his map isn't crashing...he's worried about changing the unit in the .lua which you can do without changing the side @ecusoccerdude i really suggest you clean and munge cause i think that's the problem because your .lua is correct and you have no errors pertaining to this on the mungelog

I'm not suggesting he add a custom side. dc: must be added for any side changes beyond the default sides, and that includes heroes.

That is incorrect. The "dc:" (downloadable content) is only added if the side .lvl file was to be located in the addon\***\data\_LVL_PC\SIDE folder. Same goes for sound, world, and loadscreen .lvl files. The heroes ecusoccerdude are using are from the stock cis and rep .lvl files which are not located in the addon folder. Therefore the "dc:" is not necessary at all. Basically the "dc:" tells the mission.lvl file to look in ***\data\_LVL_PC.

Basicly you only need DC when you have custom content but there is an exception. Such as the Convo Kit who is in .lvl format. So ecusoccerdude your lua looks fine. So try a clean and re-munge.

(if you havent copied him into ypour lvl_pc\side folder of battlefront)
