No, its just common sense, the movie takes place in modern day, so the trailer, taking place in 1969, must be a flashback.

I'm not questioning when it takes place (I've followed the filming of it, it's present day) - what I question is whether that's Shockwave in the trailer.

Teletraan 1 told me it was Shockwave. They're trustworthy.

There's no way that's Shockwave. His eyes are blue and he's orange, meaning he's not a cyclops, not a Decepticon, and not in the Decepticon pallete. It goes against everything ever.

Nowhere does it say Creamsiclemus Prime is Shockwave, it only says he's in the movie, which he is, Permission denied.

Thank you, Fusion - I was trying to figure out why everyone thought the yellow transformer was Shockwave. Bay goes off the deep end, but not so deep that there are no recognizable qualities between a movie character and the G1 counterpart.

This.I've been following this thread on my phone, and I have no idea why shockwave was even offered as an idea. It's kinda sad considering been identified earlier in the thread as a different character.

He's listed as a decepticon. There's also the implication that ship is EVUL. Who would it be, anyway? Unicron?

That's all I have left to say. On a related note, I am kinda sad these guys won't show up.

Theres no way anyone could know if hes a decepticon. You know, we don't know the scale of the robot, it'd be interesting if that was unicron, though there are much better ways.

As for quintessons, they'd probably look cool in CGI, but after Energon, I can't stand them.

Shockwave is listed as a decepticon; it says nothing about who's in the trailer. As Fusion already posted, pics of Shockwave's stand-in model have already been posted, and he looks nothing like the transformer in the trailer.

Personally I'm going for either Alpha Trion or just some random transformer chosen to make the trailer interesting. I could totally see the flying sequence to the transformer not even making the final film, or never intended for it.

Well, I had a chance to see Energon once, but I refused. Guess I was wise to do so. But I still would love to see the Quintessons on the big screen.

Now that I think of it, there are several ways I can see this going:

Decepticons have generally been portrayed as the ones crash-landing anywhere. In Armada, it was the moon, and Bay did say at some point that he looked to Armada for some reference, which I hope is true. However, if the robot was a Decepticon, the astronauts on the moon=screwed. From here I see it in two ways:

-It's an Autobot because the astronauts survived, and he's on the moon, and the humans in the movie will have to visit him and use his secret to beat the enemy.

-It's a Decepticon, and the Moon landing got totally dominated, and that why some people caught on to the fake moon landing (as it was faked due to the real landing getting dominated).

Both good theories, but I'm going to go with Autobot since it's not Bay's style to kill off a real-life hero who is currently in his eighties. That and traditionally only Autobots have blue eyes. (yes, I know he could have defected... blah blah blah )

Oh, and one of the production sources I was reading from talked about "scenes filmed on The Ark", which I'm assuming that is. Can't find the source, so take it for what it's worth.

The Ark is the crashed autobot ship in g1, so that's probably it. It's be cool if the ship turned into Omega Supreme, like in Animated.

Erm, tbh i think i can pretty much say that IS unicron. Due to the cartoons and comics iv read (When i was younger) the colour scheme and the face matches unicron spot on.
