Never modded Battlefront 2 before. Would like some assistance.

Hi! I'm Snowcraft, and I've never in my life made a mod for Battlefront 2 before. I've played with a few, and recognize a couple of names from maps I've downloaded on ModDB, but never in my life made one before.
I'm hoping someone might be able to assist me with finding the documentation for creating mods, and help me through the process of creating my first mod. I have autism and struggle a lot without practical demonstration and step-by-step guidance, (even finding this place was a headache) and am hoping to dip my toes into things with a (hopefully) multiplayer-compatible alteration to a stock map.
My goal is to create a custom era for Naboo: Theed to pit the CIS against Naboo's royal security forces, with vehicles. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to begin, what documentation exists to read, where to find it, or... anything else. If anyone can possibly point me in the right direction, and humor attempting to educate me in my attempt at this concept, I'd very much appreciate it.
