Forgive me if this is a noobish question.
Thanks in advance.

But no, nothing (sounds included) can be extracted from .lvl files.
What I mean is, is there like a sound player in the Mod Tools for Battlefront 2 that I can load a sound into it and actually play it and hear it?Maveritchell wrote:Play separate sounds? You'll have to explain what you mean by that one.
I tried it on the HOT.lvl from the SOUND directory and it didn't work.MasterFang1 wrote:Maveritchell wrote:Play separate sounds? You'll have to explain what you mean by that one.

That's not entirely true, I've extracted skins and used them from side .lvl's before with .LVL extractor, found at this link http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.co ... ctor;32428.

Not if its a fair use use (at least in the USA). What are you trying to do with the sounds? If you want them in a mod map, you could open those sounds files ingame the normal way. If you want them for a fan movie or something, you can always turn the volume up and rerecord the sounds...-_- wrote:...it's illegal.

As an after thought, I suppose it's not illegal to extract them, but once you use them, it's a different story.ModTools EULA wrote:(4) New Levels may not include any LucasArts sound effects or music files or portions thereof.

I take that to mean your mod can't redistribute the game's official sound files. I don't see a problem with having your mod load the existing sounds from the existing shipped game files already installed. I.E. Its fine to use the blaster shots (sounds effects) because they are build into the game, but LucasArts doesn't want you putting those effects directly into your map. Also, just because a EULA says something doesn't make it illegal.ModTools EULA wrote:(4) New Levels may not include any LucasArts sound effects or music files or portions thereof.
