You're right. It just bothers me extremely when someone says the emperor survived and was cloned... it destroy the whole sense of Star Wars.

Because I like being circular in this thread...

You guys are contradicting yourselves. The point trying to be made is "canon doesn't really matter, it's just for entertainment." and you are saying, "I agree, canon doesnt matter to me but it really irks me that they try to do this as canon."

But I digress, this topic is about TFU2, not relevance of Star Wars canon.

Let me put it this way: the Emperor being cloned is an atrocious plot device, an amateurish premise that makes the character's previous defeat irrelevant, it's an inconsequent tale that does not develop the characters or the story any further and adds nothing of relevance to the franchise; it doesn't bother me because it contradicts cannon, it bothers me because it is an insult to my intelligence, the cloning thing is just a tool used to prolong storylines that should be over. I'm also annoyed because I spent money on that silly comic, but oh well, no use crying over the spilled milk.

Moving on...

Exactly. If there are clones, it invalidates the value of the actual characters/their previous actions.

As pointed out earlier there is a Wii version but no PS2 or PSP versions this time, although they had planned a PSP version, it got canned. Shame, my PSP could have done with it... if only LucasArts put more faith in it.

Actually, this go-round the Wii version was the highest rated version.

It would be interesting to see what the Wii's multiplayer mode is like. It's just a shame Lucasarts cancelled the muliplayer from the main platforms, it might have tipped the scale towards better reviews.

They canned quite a few things... what happened to the flyable TIE fighter sequence we were promised?

Canceled as in they never worked on multiplayer at all.

I got it from here, so I'm not sure how accurate it is. I think it may have had something to do with Blackmans departure.

From what I've seen, it looks like a "Super Star Wars Brawl". :P

One thing my friend asked me was "If you had read the IGN review and the Kotaku article about internal Lucas Arts, would you have still bought the game?"

I said I would still have bought the game. However, I see now what folly that answer is. I spent 6 hours total playing that game, just finishing today, and I want those 6 hours of my life back. If anything, reading those articles would only have cushioned the impact the game made on me. As it was though, it came down hard.

The only thing that I praise of that game is the environmental effects, the textures and models, the animations, and the overall appearance of the levels. Those are true to the Star Wars style and scale. The game mechanics, the characters, the enemies, the dialogue, the level designs, I don't think any of those were up to par with the previous title.

Actual spoiler:
Hidden/Spoiler:
I mean, Dagobah gets 5 minutes of screen time, and its called a whole level. Cato Nemoidia gets 3 consecutive levels. That's just a joke.
Another, separate spoiler:
Hidden/Spoiler:
And what's this "I don't think it matters if you're a clone or not" business? That was the whole premise of the story! Its like going to find the holy grail and settling for killing the dragon. And saving the damsel. Does the holy grail mean nothing now?
With TFU1, a goose laid me a golden egg. With TFU2, it laid me a lead one.

And that's my rant.

Something obviously went wrong during the process. I'm aware the game was originally longer (including Multiplayer and a level featuring a TIE Fighter Starkiller would pilot) but with those bits cut out is seems emptier. Maybe they'll rectify that with TFU3 if they do continue on with it (unconfirmed at this point)

Or you have to wait for countless DLCs.

Bump for DLC

Again, following the dark side ending.

According to TFU2's Facebook page, it will only be $1. Of course, that's assuming you have the Xbox360 or PS3 versions.

$1.00 DLC is still too expensive for me. TFU1 was pretty good, TFU2 needed to be an improvement for me to buy it.

Ugh, what about the PC? Will I have to wait for a "TFU 2 Ultimate Sith Edition" or something like that?

I think he's talking about the DLC.
I've been following it, and from the looks of it, there's a CHANCE the DLC could be on PC, but don't get too hopeful. The boards mainly talk about Xbox and PS3.
