How to remove errors in my map? [Solved]

Hey, I set up a couple of CPS (after making a new terrain), and munged, and got alot of errors. Then I did Clean in VisualMunge, but that didn't do anything. I tried to follow Teancum's tutorial, but in Data_***/_BUILD/Sides, I found sides for CIS and such, but I didn't find any side that has my map name. And I looked in the side folders, but in places where I can find the MUNGED/PC part, there is nothing in there. So how do I remove those errors and get my CPS to show ingame (I put them in the right layer) ?
*EDIT* Here is my error log:
Code: Select all
ERROR[levelpack KPF.req]:Expecting bracket, but none was found.
File : munged\pc\tat_main_3.texture.req(1)...

It seems I need .mz files and brackets. What do those mean?

visualmunge is having problems with the tat_main_3 texture you ususally get this error when the texture has rle-compression the other error could be caused by that but im not shure

1) In _BUILD/Sides, you need to create the folders and files for your custom side, just like the others. It won't munge your side otherwise. It's outlined in the Jedi Creation Guide, which is in the documentation folder.
2) The texture error may be what DarthD.U.C.K. says, but it appears to be a glitched munge in my mind, since it's pointing to a req file.
3) KPF_Conquest.mrq (not the mz stuff) is having trouble being munged. Going by the texture error, this may have also have been messed up or lost in the munge.
All in all, I think it's a glitched munge, plus the side issue. This should all be fixed with a good manual clean, and completion of the side setup process.

Also make sure you have .tga.option files with all necessary files to run the texture

1) I don't have a custom side...yet. Which is why doing a manual clean won't work.
2) I got the texture from Wazmol's stairs, and there was no req file.
3)Ook..how do I fix that?
Ok...I'll make a new side, and I'll see what happens next. But will that solve the CPs showing up ingame?

You have a very poor attitude toward something when you don't even know what it does.

This is a topic found by searching that has the same error you have and asked about twice. It was solved with a manual clean. Have fun.

tat_main_3.tga is your problem. Take a look at that, because it can't build the other stuff (the Conquest layer for example) because something's wrong with that texture. Whenever you get munge errors, the easiest one to recognize is usually the culprit.

I copied and pasted a Tatooine texture and renamed it as tat_main_3. It showed up fine in the MSH viewer after that, so I don't think it's the problem. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

I can't, cause I have no sides. I'm creating some now, but i'm clueless as to how that fixes it

Erm...
Teancum wrote:
Delete all files in the following folders:
data_***/_BUILD/SIDE/***/MUNGED/PC --do this for each side you've munged
data_***/_BUILD/WORLDS/***/MUNGED/PC
I can't do that if
it's not there.

have you ever looked if ist there?
deleting the munged files has nothing to do with sides!
if you dont have sides its logical that some files that are pointed ut in the manualcleantut are not there but why should VM munge no addme.lvl fro example if you have no sides??

I just realized I didn't need to delete the files in my side folders if I didn't have them, I am terribly sorry about this.
As for the second part...I don't exactly know what you mean, but the world creator doesn't put an actual sides folder in there I don't think...it just uses the default files. I dunno how that works.
*EDIT* I did a manual clean, nothing. I have errors still, and CPs still don't show up. Here is my new error log:

I told you, it's that tat_main_3 texture. I'm not telling you this for fun. LISTEN.
ERROR[PC_texturemunge world1\msh\tat_main_3.tga]:TextureMunge(tat_main_3:509x518x1): Must have power of two dimensions!
The texture has to be a power of 2
(link). Your texture is 509x518, which is NOT a power of two. It doesn't matter where you copied it from, it's NOT a power of two.
Don't ask questions if you're not willing to listen to the answers we give you.

That's partially my fault, for suggesting a manual clean in the face of everything else. It did mention only the req file before, though, and this new munge log makes it clear what the problem is.

Well huh! Never thought a texture would cause so much mayhem in my map. I'll fix that up and see if it works.
*EDIT* It didn't. Well, sorta. It only fixed one of the problems. Here's my error log:
Any way how to fix this? I
REALLY need help.
EDIT
I'm really sorry to double post, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't double post, be patient. It's not like everyone is available 24/7. Did you manually clean and munge? Sometimes that will either fix the error -or- give you a better clue as to where the problem is.
