Water height problems [Solved]

Post by SkinnyODST »

I have 2 separate places where I added water and they both have different heights. I added water to them and then realised that they where both the same height (one was at the right height and the other was floating). Is there a way to change the height of individual water areas?

Sadly no, all water is at the same height no matter what.

You can, however, create a model, and add a moving texture to it so that it looks like wate, just make sure that no units are going to really walk through it, you can't add splashes or anything like that. This method works really well for puddles in rocks and general detail aesthetic stuff.

Wait thats not true guys. When you click on the Water section in ZERO EDITOR you have different find the box with name Layer. On default it will be set to 1.Let say you leave it like that and add somewhere a water on your map. That water is only for layer one.So you simply change Layer value from 1 to 2 and then you can change the other parameters for height and width and you can add water with different height and width since its now a different layer.

Would that even work in-game? Because many years ago I exactly tried that and the second layer had no water at all.

The 'Layer' setting is useless, different layers of water is not possible. It will appear to work in ZE and the data is saved to your *.ter file, but will result in a "Discarding additional water layer" munge warning.
