Big project, lots of new models.

Well I've been working on some old unfinished models for this game as well as some new ones, even remaking things that came with the game for better accuracy. Most of the focus is going towards the GCW era since it's billions of times better than the CW era. Here are some of the models...

Lambda

In game and working for the most part, want to just add a rear turret that is controllable.

T-16 skyhopper

Partly textured, was originally for JA but flight sucks in that game and figured since I felt like I did an OK job on the textures I would finish it up.

B-Wing

New version of a model I made and got leaked out without permission, wont get into that but this one will trump it in every way making people using the old want to recompile just for this new one.

TIE Bizarro

Was bored one day and decided to hack up the Pandemic model and use it to make all the experimental TIE fighters from the XWA series. More to come on these.

Victory-II class Star Destroyer

Wanted to make some capital ships and have a little more variety. Don't mind the poly count, there's a Pandemic TIE in the underside hangar for size reference.

Immobilizer 418 Cruiser

Something that can be used as a frigate in maps since they are actually smaller than the Victory ISD, thought it would make for a interesting Imperial ambush scenario.

Yeah, yeah I know, the game already has one, but it's so freakin inaccurate. This one will have an underside hangar, maybe even the smaller one for the Lambda Shuttle. Some things right now are just place holders since I want all the destructible things to be accurate as well. What was once the bridge will be the communications like it should be, the underside dome will be sensors, shield domes will be linked to the shields, I will make a new bridge model and not sure what life support will be.

This is just the start of what I want to do to bring not only more ships but to have more accurate versions of what already exists. Not sure of what the project name will be but hopefully someone who is an awesome texture artist will come forward offering help to get some of these finished.

I also need to totally relearn how to mod for this game since it has been so freaking long so if anyone doesn't mind helping out this old has been PM me and well get on MSN sometime and I can bother you about modding. =p

welcome back :D
however there are very few good from-scratch-texturers around here, i think this could become the biggest problem
*sends you a pm*
and great models by the way^^

For the Star Destroyers if you make a good highly detailed Hi-Poly mesh you can bake down a Normal Map, which also makes a good base for the Color/Diffuse textures you need.

They all look superb and well crafted. Good to see you back Mini.

^Yeah I definitely want to bump map them, a grayscale bump should be good enough for angular stuff like this since I can do that much faster than model a high poly source and use ultimapper to bake a normal map. I was gonna try to texture some stuff myself but I figured I could churn out way more if someone helped with that cause I'm slow at it.

Lambda-class shuttle? Underside hangars?

You sir, are the greatest.

Well the Lambda has actually been in game for a long time but the thing is about it is that it is to scale, in other words it's too large to fold it's wings out in the current ISD hangar without blowing up from it's own collision. The Pandemic ISD's bugged me in so many ways with how inaccurate they were, I'm surprised no one has tried to make new ones yet.

That was a functional choice by the design team, not an aesthetic one. In terms of getting a smooth flow (read: crash/collision-less) from the hangar to the flight area for the AI, side hangars work best.

Eh, well for those who play multiplayer where there is no AI this would be a nice change. Even if not the hangar being different just having better destruction points and not having 4 smaller cannons on each side replacing where pandemic put those 2 giant ones.

EDIT: Didn't want to double post, I worked on the engines for the ISD a little bit today. I most likely will export these as new engine meshes for the game since they match the new ISD better.

I like, looks very good.

Only thing which bithers my eye is the little blocky thing on the inside of the exhausters. :P

Engins of the Immobilizer 418 are from "Star Wars Empire At War". All models look awesome.
