XSI & CGI Modeling Forums Merged

In order to keep forum clutter (and user confusion) to a minimum, the "XSI-->SWBF Series" forum has been merged with the "CGI Modeling" forum into the "3D Modeling & Animation" forum.
Since we now may have questions and topics about modeling or animation in
multiple 3D apps, if you are creating a tutorial or have a question that pertains to one specific application, please make sure you are clear in your topic as to which 3D app you're referring to. It may help to title your topic like this:
Need UV help (XSI)
or
Converting to obj? (3DS)
Also, the "Model Showcase" thread will now be the "SWBF Series" showcase. Any 3D application, but only models for SWBF/SWBF2, wireframe pics are still required regardless of what 3d app you're using.

What about sketchup?

That's fine. This is for all 3D modeling.

I think he was asking if you needed wireframes for Sketchup, not if you could post Sketchup models. Though my question is: should Sketchup models go in their previous topic or in the model showcase thread?

The Model Showcase Thread was changed to SWBF Series Model Showcase Thread v3.0. If pplz want to post SketchUp models in a new thread, that's fine, but AFAIK nobody's actually exported a SketchUp model to SWBF so they don't belong there.

True fact, but it required quite a bit of work, I forgot to invert polys.

Good to hear.

I was worried it would be tough to convert.

Well, that's pretty much exactly what it is. Sketchup scales things insanely big when imported into XSI, so you gotta scale it, then invert the polys, re-uv, texture, and finally check it ingame, then go back and fix whatever you screwed up......

You don't necessarily hafta re-UV... I have brought quite a few sketchup models off of 3D warehouse or from modelers at GT and never had to Re-UV them once.

I'm happy you posted this mav, at first I thought the XSI topic was wiped from the site.
