Mon Calamari v2.0 FINAL

Hey guys! It's been a while and I've been working on the map to fix out balance and other issues. And what can I say...it's out!
*** Mon Calamari: The Battle of Dac ***

Description: An underwater ravine battle on the planet of Mon Calamari

Overview: Mon Calamari is on the brink of civil war. The Quarren have declared their loyalty to the Separatists, while the Mon Calamari stay true to the Republic. However, the CIS have intervened, and it is clearly time for the Republic to take action. They have sent a battalion of scuba troopers, led by Kit Fisto, to the seas of Dac. The two forces engage in a fierce underwater battle, which will decide the fate of Mon Calamari.

Features:
-new special classes
-new skins
-underwater effects (ex. enlarged blaster fire)
-custom models
-custom hero models - kit fisto, quarren officer
-custom weapon model- trident
-custom sounds- blaster fire

Bugs:
-no underwater physics (phyics are hardcoded into game)
-loading screen delay

Notes:
-Best battles takes place on lower levels

This map wins the award for most Creative, Serious (Boing maps don't count :lol: ), Well Done, Maps I've ever played :D . I rate it a 20/10 :yes: !!! Thanks Galactic_Marine!!!

Dude your beta was seriously awesome

i bet this map is sick!


so far Penguin and u were the only ones who were able to get these underwater maps!

cool lvl but the only thing i didn't like was the fact that the battle was mainly by the lower cp instead of like an all out war. But other than that it was awesome, looked like it was really underwater :D

Yeah, I do admit that the battle was rather unevenly distributed throughout the map, but it really was the only way to make this map more intense. Beleive me, between the time of the beta and now, I tried (seriously) ALL possiblities in gameplay and cps...and this was the best one for the provided layout.

Well, I just played it, and I have to say it's a great improvement from the first one. It definitely feels like a completed map now! Very well done--I have no complaints! :)

Way to go for taking on such an original idea! :D

one complaint; plz your limiting the jetpack usage!

we cant go really high and we cant hover that long!

man we are really screwed when we verse jedi in multiplayer!

Yeah, I'm really sorry about the jetpacks...I knew that would come back to haunt me....cuz the thing is, I sent the map to someone for touching up, and they sent it back to me like that....and...er...I was too lazy to fix it...But don't worry about the jedi thing, I reduced the jedi's health by a lot...

And by the way, I regret to say that this is the final version of the map, and I don't have the time or will to work on it much longer...

Glad you're back Galactic_Marine. The map layout looks great compared to the beta, the muffled sounds are very well done. The laser blast are everywhere, it really looks like a big battle if viewed from far away. Awesome job on the map, I will definitely remember it.

it was okay, it does need more for but i like the feel, only thing is like for me i cant capture cp 1

well the quarren cp is uncapturable because otherwise the republic captures that base really early and the whole rest of the battle has no quarren. Believe me, most of the alterations I made were for the greater good. And I'm slightly disappointed that you didn't enjoy the map that much, but even though I'm not releasing another version, can you tell me specifically what you thought needed work?

i didnt say i didnt like it, its a really fierce battle which i love

its a good map, but hey all maps need a lil tweak (even the shipped ones :roll: )

I downloaded this this morning, and I must say, I really enjoyed it.
I've always loved underwater maps, ever since Astute's Kamino Serine for SWBF1.

It really captures that underwater feel, and has good atmosphre, once I was playing, I didn't care at all about the phisics.

I really liked the custom models too, the trident, the player models, and even the buildings, glowing faintly in the depths.

Also, the really enlarged laser blasts where interesting, I didn't dislike them, it was... I don't know, intersting. :P
The new weapon sounds where really nice too alittle some thing just barely noticeable, on the edge of the experince rendering subtle support.

Over all, Great map! Get yourself a Rootbeer you deserve it

well, I can't take credit all for myself...I really owe it to astute and darth Z13, who in fact, created the sound effects...

Oh, and for you modders out there...I can touch up kit fisto if you want, make him a bit buffer, then release him as an asset...I've already done a little work on him:
