Checkout the getting started guide in the mod tool's documentation folder.

Are you using Windows 2000?
What are your desktop color settings? (ex: 32-bit, 16-bit, 8-bit)

I used to have this problem. It really sucked badly, but a new video card fixed the problem. When you start the actual game does it say anything about TnL?

Your answers? ZeroEdit doesn't work with all Windows 2000 systems, and it doesn't work under certain color settings and graphic cards.

I think Zerted is right. Make sure your display is set to 32-bit, then try a new graphics card (My Zeroedit used to not work with space maps and certain objects...like medic droids :( ...Then I installed a new graphics card...and everything worked!) Finally, if all else fails, upgrade to Windows XP, or wait until Windows Vista comes out next year and buy a whole new conputr.
