When you say "can't get it to work" what do you mean.
Hidden/Spoiler:
If you are saying that it has a runtime error during munging a brand new map from the data folder. If that is the case then try running it as administrator.(worked for me).

Hi, thanks! :)

It had nothing to do with run time errors. It is the vista munge error. I use windows 7 32 pro btw any help would be appreciated

First of all, Welcome to Gametoast!
Please say what happens that is not making it work. Is it crashing? Give a bit more detail. :D

based on the small ammount of information given i only have one idea for you. try turning off your security system while munging this happened to me before and i reinstalled my modtools 3 times and it still didn't work, untill i turned off my security, that just about the time i knew norton was EVIL :runaway:

but uh... thats my problem for you just turn off the security system that you have and test it with that. if that doesn't work give us alot more information about what exactly is going wrong and then we will come up with more possible fixes

Hi all. It doesn't work. I have tried the vista munge fix to. It munges like it should. Say my map is called MA3. I munge and select everything, that means i selected rep and common, so i go to my addon folder, and there is a MA3 folder. I open it. SIDE and MA3 folders inside are empty??

well thats more detail but we will need to know a bit more about what you have modded so far and if you have made custom sides and/or maps and/or units.

well thats not really any detail but if you only have the rep and the commom teams then it probably won't work unless you set it up in the lua.

please for the sake of getting this fixed write at least 100 words or so explaining it. the one sentance posts that you have been giving haven't really been telling us your problem...

for the sake of getting problems fixed you should read more carefully and only give advice when you are familiar with the problem
his problem is that the map is not munged, that has nothing to do with how things are set up. if you mess up something completely, you get a munge error. if you mess it up a bit it wont work but the files are created anyway. if he doesnt get an error, nor are the files created. this means that the munge itself is broken somehow

anyway,i think there are several more threads about vista/win 7 mungeproblems, maybe you can find a solution in another one.

Imma make a copy of my assets and do a reinstall of Mod Tools.

EDIT
Sweet Baby Jesus!!

It worked. I reinstalled running the installer as administrator with compatibility for XP 3, and it works now!! Everything munged!!
