I made the beggining of the CIS mines today:
All I have to do is fix up one bug and that section's ready
Actually, Its just something I started doing. I got so far I decided to keep it.
Those are some impressive tunnel systems! Puts Pandemic's models to shame.
Are those textures from Sketchup, or somewhere else?

Actualy, I used the death star's and the polis masa (for rock) textures. the only sketchup one I used is the glass.
And thanks!

Really cool! Will you be going into a cliff face?(Seeing the exit not being inclined at all)

The design looks great; the textures look overly simplistic. I've never seen a true comparison of SketchUp models to ingame, though, and the results may be different than what I can see in my head. Regardless, I do look forward to seeing what comes.
(Some of the design is even reminiscent of my next Rebel Ops map, although there's no way you could have known that.)

All under

and key, huh Mav?
And I could never compete with that mine system. Excellent work, Fett.

Well, I just figured out how to enlarge the texture in sketchup without editing the actual texture file, so I'll change that in the other models and hopefully the textures on the rocks will be much better.
EDIT: Also, I realized I can use the the move tool to increase the details on the walls (so they're not just rectangles). I've also started work on the last or second to last section of the mines.

you should. its really easy to use, and it takes seconds to pick up. texturing is beautifully simple aswell.

Well, I set up the last section of the mines, a landing pad, a prop, added more detail to the other caves, made the texture setup on the caves much better, and exported it to .dae. Now, all I need is for someon to export to .msh!

I'd also add that either the textures will really need to be done well (i.e. good bump maps included) or the models should be split up and made higher poly. Doing both never hurt anyone, of course.

Well, good news and bad. You don't have to retexture sketchup models in xsi (at least it seams fine in ZE), but the textures have to be the same for each slot in all the models you're using in a map (ie texture 1 has to be the same for both models, or one will overwright the others) I'll try to find a way around this, though.

Catacran Orbital Defense Platform (interiors made from scratch, exterior is modified kamino model)
Several models, not one. Needs some sort of side supports and some detail added (probably will use stock stuff).
Could someone export it for me if I put it in .kmz format???
PS. Fett -

Thinking of redoing Catacran? That station looks awesome! Too bad about the map, though, I liked the old asteroid you had.
