I was also disappointed. All the rumors floating around are interesting to hear though.

I just had a thought today. If/when BF3 is announced, we as a community need to do some detective work into finding out if there will be mod tools for the game. Whether it's converting old stuff or making new models/maps, we should be as ready as possible when the game comes out to get maps released for gameplay.

They were killed by the Brutes. Not sure why they didn't make really gory body piles, like they had in the flood levels of Halo CE. But ODST starts about when they are betrayed by the Brutes

There were some corpses. Not a lot, but some. I wanna say it was in Kizingo Boulevard that I saw some.

There were some corpses. Not a lot, but some. I wanna say it was in Kizingo Boulevard that I saw some.

If you wander into buildings and corners there are also many more elite bodies.

I know thye look similar, but it doesn't move like a rancor. And rancors look like bulldogs, this one looks like a gorilla. It's probably a predator that eats rancors. So maybe they're from the same subphylum.

only thing i can think of is it's a distant relative of the bull rancor, if anything. probably not related by much, except for both being reptomammals. also notice in this picture (appropriately labeled by someone else lol), look at it's leg. there are three major bones, two on the top, one on the bottom. so i think a rancor is a very, very distant relative.

So it's hind legs have a digitigrade stance. But everything from the hips up is way too different for it to be closely related. Could be a little something called convergent evolution; Thylacines look(ed) like hyenas, but they weren't closely related.

Actually, there are elite corpses within the level in which you play as Buck.

Bungie had come up with some kind of unrealistic excuse, but I think that they just didn't want to do any extra programming for the Elite's AI.

EDIT: Supposedly, there was a member from battlefront3.net that called Lucasarts HQ and the person he spoke with blatantly said Battlefront 3 was coming out in the November timeframe of 2010. To get attention. Lucasarts isn't going to tell Joe Fanboy anything before telling the press. Plain and simple. Besides, anyone you can get on the phone isn't going to know squat - they just aren't high enough on the totem pole.

The 'Rancor Tosser' looks like some freakish hybrid with Godzilla, A Gorilla, and a Bull Rancor I am so excited! I don't get what you guys are so bummed about, I mean, yea its not BFIII, but TFU was a great game in my opinion..

They must be, because with many of their "confirmations" they cite some random, no-name blog. If they're trying to be funny it's a pretty jerk thing to do, as a lot of the more innocent folks will believe them.
