This confirms my idea that Hollywood has run out of movie ideas. Any thoughts?

Oh ya I saw that trailer too. Have no idea how this will play out. I agree w/ you that if Hollywood gives us something like this, they clearly have run out of ideas.

The trailer looked decent. The fact that its tied to a board game, however, is utter fail.

I just don't get the story basis. Like of all the board games, pick the one with no story. It's like making a movie about the game asteroid or space invaders.

My initial reaction: WTF?!

Hollywood, and it seems media in general, don't really have much ideas to throw around anymore.

Just wait until they come out with Parcheesi in Imax & 3D, and it's sequels, Sorry! and Ludo.

And then two years later they'll make a reboot of all three with the subtitle: "First Class."

I'm still waiting for LA or some other company do a remake of the original trilogy. I mean 4-6 are good but I feel like they lack the amount of special effects that we have today. I would either like a remake with still all the same actors (maybe change Luke & Leia's) and everything or do a completely new episode/trilogy based in the EU to have something more to build on.

I know that's slightly off topic but that's what I would like to see

GAAAAAH! That's it, this really is the end of the world! The whole proccess started when Shakespeare ripped of The Lion King, and now it's finally coming to a close!
I have no expectations for this film.

I can't wait for the Saw-style Sorry movie. Four people forced to kill each other until there is only one. Only then can they reach their safety zone and be rescued from the labyrinth of traps set up by the cruel and conniving Diceface.

I can't really say much about Battleship. Teancum said it best. When I first heard the idea there was a small part of me that said give it a chance. That part died when I saw there were aliens involved.

Movies that have Liam Neeson are all the better for it, but he usually overshadows the story with his awesome. I imagine the same will happen here, where it'll be all Liam Neeson, no story.

I can see it now, end of the movie:
Hidden/Spoiler:
Random Guy: "Sir, we can't take any more hits!"

[Some big long dramatic discussion between two main characters about the importance of something full of skittles and happiness that brings tears to everyone's eyes.]

[Main character has loads of confidence now as to what he should do in this life or death situation.]

Main Character: "Fire everything we have at.......................G4."

Random Guy: "Are you positive si-"

Main Character: "Just do it!"

[Fires all cannons on G4 completely obliterating the last alien ship and as the ship is sinking you can barely hear the alien commander say...]

Alien Commander: "YOU SUNK MY BATTLESHIP!!!!" (In an alien language of course).
I can't wait for this movie.

First I thought it was a top gun style movie for the navy, which would have been a fail anyway, and then I saw aliens, and immediately thought not again. If they can't think of anything original, Hollywood has to use aliens. It just gets a bit boring.

I concur :plokoon:

Top Gun is a great movie, for what it is. I would have liked to see that, not this alien bullcrap.

I liked Top Gun too, especially the soundtrack, but I just think it's style is a bit dated for a current movie, although I agree, it would be better than another alien feature.
