Oh I and I got custom music working too =D with the bf2 modtools, no bf1 junk. I fulfill my promise, and I am writing a complete sound tutorial for adding custom music/sfx. (I swore if I ever figured it out, I would piece together the 5 tuts we have into 1 coherent one).

Anyways, it's for a jukebox/stereo system that you can control with buttons that you shoot. I'll utilize the play music and stop music lua functions :)

Epm modeled a segway which I will texture, we can then zip around the arena faster. We tested a beta with some friends and found a major flaw in the battle system, so I gotta fix that. (it was actually my fixing it that broke it). And in all the excitement I forgot about an upstairs room that I could fill with something... fingerfood and I were thinking about tetris or some puzzle, but it proved to be too difficult to do. Got any ideas for a puzzle that can be done with bf2? or something interactive....

Here's a idea: a Target Practice Hall. Make some of those police firearms training targets, and then in ze, make it so that they move from left to right in a training hall. Also, will you ever release a few of your weapons models?

As for those ideas,

@ RED: The whole map is like one big shooting range. I'm sure it could be beneficial, but wouldn't be worth the work compared to the usefullness of it.

@ Revan: There aren't any heroes.

In the words of Rep (about), they need to be almost a minigame but easy to make and one that would satisfy players.


An interesting idea, although may not be worth it; a maze. Simple walls that can rotate around points and can have a Reset button when you complete it that teleports all players out of the maze and rotates the walls a certain random amount. Sure, sometimes it may become unsolvable, but then you could just reset it.

That carbine is really awesome, I notice you textured it with some really simple textures, yet it turned out great.
Wish I could do that :P

It's actually almost exactly the same as how you set up custom .sfx for BFII, I only wrote the tutorial in context of BF1 because it's easier to do it with those tools (since you have to copy-and-paste the sound .lvl manually anyway). And you probably checked this out along the way, but Vyse's sound tutorial is pretty comprehensive for how to do everything (the only thing it doesn't include is custom ambient music, which is why I only wrote that tutorial). If you want to do a unified tutorial, knock yourself out, though.

I meant not to diminish the importance of your tutorial in any way, because I used it to get sound to work :) I would just rather keep everything together in one bf2 folder instead of having folders all over the place. Yes vyse did a nice job with his sound tutorial, but as phazon said, there's about 4 people that know how to do custom music and sound, so I think a unified tutorial may help more people to get custom sounds working.

I has an idea for da puzzle. Not actually a puzzle, but if possible, a betting booth. you go in and go somewhere in the room based on which team, # of kills dealt, the amount of time your wager spans, and the # of points you're wagering.

That's an interesting idea, what about a bet button that is on each portal and if you shoot it you bet 1 point on that team. (you can shoot it more than once). I'd have to figure out how to subtract points, so far I only know how to add them.

Problem is that you don't have real control over the addition (you can "AddAssaultDestroyPoints," but it can only be one set value of points).

i think a pit for the puzzle would be fine cause there can be 10+points for a sith then 10000+ if you beat 10000000 sith then thats the end then the door opens to a portal back?
