MrCrayon wrote:Looks good! How did you make the water look like that? I want to make water like that! And the high quality texture! Wow. Nice work! Why don't you add bikes as vehicles? You know, peddle bikes! DanBoeing did it in that trippy map Psychedelia. Maybe he released the asset!

Problems:

1. WHERE are the ducks??? I demand ducks!
2. Needs a fountain (use a mustafar explosion and make it look like water)
3. Where are the freakin DUCKS!!!???

Yeah, I like ducks.

Good job!

p.s. dibs on testing!
Thanks! I simply followed Fierfek's tutorial and advice from Gametoast for the water. To have high-detail textures, get a 1024x1024 texture and put it in the detail part of the desired texture layer. I will look into ducks as well as a fountain.
CressAlbane wrote:It looks very well-constructed for a first map. I think this will be a download for me.
Also, I'd like to test when it comes out if you still need help.
I really appreciate your positive comments! It's really nice to know that I'm not wasting my time on a map that nobody will download.

I suggest BF1s Naboo Fountain for the lake, I'm sure that would look very good! :)

Oh... I didn't think about that. I guess that could work, too.

Marth8880, did you get my PM?

It's looking good, the water texture is amazing! Are you going to add the ducks? if so, try to animate them in the final version or something. Keep up the Great work! :)
Hidden/Spoiler:
Another question, will it have starfighters?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm going to go with what General_Nate has for me.
General_Nate wrote:Marth8880, did you get my PM?
Yes I did. General_Nate, I cannot thank you enough for creating that water fountain effect for me! I will definitely put it in my map and credit you and such.

Thank you master (lol). I'm still not sure about the ducks.
Obi-Wan Kenobi wrote:Another question, will it have starfighters?
No. Sorry about that.

Ah, well, I don't think your park has some droid starfighters or republic starfighters lying around anyway, lol.

If I made a duck mesh for you it'd be relatively simple to make them into unanimated units that just glide around. The problem would be how to keep them above water and not drowning. If anyone comes up with an answer to that problem, I'd be glad to make you some ducks.

Maybe they could be hover vehicles? They wouldn't actually hover though.

That's a good idea - I did something similar with an early Tientia proof-of-concept, playing around with hover vehicles and water. If you set up a local side (maybe an ambush) and a script to force them into some pre-placed vehicles that follow a defined path on top of the water, I could make a duck for you.

This is a very interesting idea. However, I would most likely need some help with the coding.

I would suggest changing your fountain color to a more whitish color, unless plasma flows of the real fountain. :P (Of course that light blue is always what I think of when I think plasma so if it doesn't bother other people feel free to keep.)

Good point. It did look a bit blue. BTW, there are more updates now. :D

For your ambush area, I think a better hintnode would be Access, Fortify, or Patrol.
Access makes units stand in that spot as if they were using a panel, Fortify I believe they go there to fortify an area, and Patrol sends them walking in the direection of the hintnode.

ok, so I was thinking, instead of having fish ducks (WTF???) why not make a prop and just animate it to loop about in the pond. Just make'em swim about in slow, lazy circles!

Ducks as vehicles. :funny2: Actually that could make for a funny hunt mode if a duck local team was made.

sim-al2, you are a genius!!! :faint:

DUCK HUNT ANYONE???!!! :runaway: That could make this map one of the best maps on gametoast (well, not really, but for me it would)

Imagine! Clones armed with shotguns vs ducks armed with melee attack! There could be like 80 of them vs 6 clones! It would be epic! And the hero could be daffy duck armed with shotgun invincibility, explosives and dynamite, and disguise! Do it please!!!

According to ZE, Fortify is for things like CTF. What exactly do they do at an Access hintnode? Do they just stand there and shoot at any enemies they see?

That works as well.

Very good idea! It'll definitely take work, but it's worth it.

I'm surprised darthD.U.C.K. hasn't commented yet. :funny2:

You just lit a spark in my mind...

So let's see, lemme plan this all out...

Duck Hunt Mode IDEA

Objective/Setup:
-Same style as hunt mode
-32 ducks against 6 clones

Teams:

Team 1: "Hunters":
-Hunter Pursuer
  • Birdshot Ammo Shotgun
  • Camouflage
-Hunter Rifleman
  • M1903 Springfield
  • Revolver or Pistol (maybe)
  • Camouflage
-Elmer Fudd (hero)
  • Double-Barreled Shotgun
  • Mines
  • Camouflage
  • I need more weapon ideas for Elmer Fudd
Team 2: "Ducks":
-Duck
  • Beak Attack
  • Flight (can attack in-flight)
-Duck Elite
  • Beak Attack
  • Supersonic Quack
  • Flight (can attack in-flight)
-Daffy Duck (hero)
  • Punch
  • Detpacks
  • Mines
  • Shotgun Invincibility

I would suggest you add a sandy texture to the lakeshore. It just seems more natural.

YES!!! Elmur Fudd! But remember, Daffy is just as good at disguises as bugs bunny, so a good disguise would fit perfectly. Besides, it would add to the effect of the looney toons hero!
