New exporter addon for XSI modtools

there is now a "Mod Tool Add-On for Epic's Unreal Engine" since March 15.

Hey i´m close to run amok here. Softimage could be happy that there is a big water called atlantic ocean between me and them.
I didn´t wait over 3 month for a Diet Dr. Pepper unreal addon. I want the Battlefront one,grrrrr

also rumour has it a battlefront 2 is in the works. that will be out before the addon at this rate

I follow these since I have HL2 (which is great), but you guys it will be similar to SWBF/BF mods or more like HL2 DM?

Well i don´t think that Pandemic will switch to HL2 engine after developping their own engine wich is a good one so far i can say it.

Those mods you listed above are sooo sweet. The models anyway ,not sure if there /they have anything in game yet, or moving /animiated. THey have done the book research though, cetainly.

Im not nearly done with the SWBF engine, and i have hopes for good things in the future relating to swbf. Im just curious what we could do with a small time conversion for hl2.

My real goal is doing something with Bf2, which , if you have read the previews will just tear even halk life2 apart.

"passengers in vehicles can now use scope to locate foes, or use there own weapons base don their class from any position in the game. Also each clas has totally different skins for each class which change depending on the map/terrains... i.e if your map has snow , player is in white skins/snow.

There are HUGE things in the battlefield 2 release, this isnt just new maps and fluff.

Yes, we know that. But I am sooo bored of seeing the same things in all the maps. And it's much more of a a PITA to get anything new into the game than it should be.

I am in aggreance with Saturn. Creating anything new for SWBF is a real headache. You have to know what you ae doing before you can mod it. Some Joe Blow off the streets can't create anything interesting unless he asks around for weeks, or even months, on how to do stuff, and even then he has to have the techy knowledge to understand it.

Well, I have nothing against modding requiring some techy knowledge; pretty much any mod will require you to do a bit of scripting or something, and if you want to model new stuff, well that doesn't just happen overnight.

Upshot is, Softimage posted on a message board at Chistmas time that they were working on the plugin. Since then, they have not replied to our posts asking about it or made any kind of announcement or update, even to say they will or won't be releasing it. I have also made a couple of posts on other XSI boards asking if anyone is willing to test the plugin in higher versions of XSI. I haven't received a single reply. We are, apparently, the ginger stepchild of the modding community.

If all you want is simple legos, you could do that already with BConstructor, Ive seen a bunch already. As for the update, it looks like it does not work Mod Tools, so we still must wait.
