For some reason Thom's face (second from the right) looks like Woody from Toy Story doing the facial expression Homer Simpson had in "The Shinning" when he did the 60 Minutes entrance.

But yeah, I love that video. Not only does it show the original forklift it also shows Halo 3 running at the best it's ever looked (Scarab, desert battle, Metropolis with Scarab).

A helmet that 343 scripted into their version of the game.

They cannot release it because of how Reach is programmed. For anything to appear in a map or game mode it needs to be added to that specific .map file. To get it in there they basically have to copy all of those .map files over again and ship it as a title update. They can't because everyone playing would need to have it and not everyone can download a 8-9 GB title update due to some of us still having the 20 GB hard drive and more than just Reach for games.

Don't count on using it, in other words.

I just laughed when I found out that Bungie really included Chess (the one in the april fools vid one year ago). Just got to play it and it's really fun (though a lil buggy). It's a totally new concept that shows some interesting ways the game could go (Tactic shooter RTS like risk, anyone?).

However, you cannot forge the chess in any way. You can just set up a marker of where you want the chess field to be. Thats quite disappointing concerning the potential that the gametype brings.

Heres a screen so that you can imagine:

NOTE: these are NOT players. They are dummys that can be controlled from 1 flying ball dude
You can find the gametype, by just searching for "halo chess" in the ingame search.

There's a modded "Space Chess" on the file browser if you want that too. It takes place on Anchor 9.

The only reason it works there is because the 1x1 block is in the map's files for some reason. :P

Nice! Thanks. So I guess theres one on Tempest aswell. Too bad the new map pack doesn't have much to offer in forge.

Are there any more "insane" gametypes that can't be found in any playlist?

It's called assault with lives set to one and radar off. Way better than Search.
Also, thanks to Reach I finally learned how to play Chess :D

If you guys feel like going bald by ripping your hair out I suggest trying the weekly.

It is fun if you have 4 people, but Zealots. If you think Winter LASO was bad the Brute standoff plus the Zealots takes like an hour if you can't skip it because you forgot the concussion rifle to get up to the Onager early.

Wow, I didn't know there was a shortcut at the end. You meant this one right?

Luckily I haven't done it yet so I might give it a try. (Though it will be hard to carry the concusion rifle through the whole level)

I don't think I will attempt it. I'm not really that fond of the LASO missions. I might give it a try cuz it would be nice to have all those extra credits and the fact that I won't be on Halo for like the next couple weeks. I'm like halfway to General by now so that should get me closer to my next rank.''

I almost finished the Long Night of Solace LASO challenge with my friend Hydro Calibur, but we both gave up when we were in the part where you have to protect the Pelican's slipspace drive. I wouldn't even try Pillar of Autumn, it's a long mission and the MAC section is especially hard.

If you hadn't given up at that point there is actually a way to use the Pelican's main gun. While you use it you're invincible and the enemy AI will continue to shoot at you, leaving the partner relatively safe.

If they blow up the gun's model you can see while shooting.

What do you think is the purpose of BoBs is now? i ask again because there are more being discovered.

Maybe Bungie is just watching how we loose our time looking for them; maybe they mean something...

In the Strategy Guide they were referred to as "Daily Challenge Elites."
Seeing as they were found relatively easy and only one (the New Alexandria one) has been a daily challenge, I would say their purpose was ultimately scrapped.

Actually, the NA Banshee BoB was like a strict challenge, there have been others that invlove any other BoB on foot, like Golden Oportunity.

Got my Blue Flames, then I got a 19/0 Perfection with shields down and red health at the end of the match. Winning.
