Tatooine Dune Sea/Sarlacc Pit Issues

Post by modmaster13 »

Hey,

I am currently having issues with converting tatooine dune sea do bf2. Every time I try to move a round or do anything in zero editor, it crashes with the usual "zeroeditor.exe has stopped working" message, and I don't know why. :cpu: Is this typical for creating a dune sea conversion that the world crashes? Or is it just me?

I managed to deal with the constant crashing and i made conquest for dune sea. I get this mungelog message:

(These errors make it so everything is black in game and I can't spawn)

I'm pretty sure the tat1_hunt errors is because i didnt update the world1 req files. But the sarlacc messages, I'm not sure what those mean. Do I have to add in the animation in ZE? Or is it looking for a file inside the munged or msh folders?

If someone could please help that would be well appreciated. :)

I had this problem once, too. If I want to make a custom mod using a BF1 level I usually use Marvel4's scripts and his .LVL files, which works fine for creating Conquest/Uber or Hunt/Eli/XL type modes but isn't so effective if you're trying to become more ambitious. If you're only aiming to do something like that, you could try that.

I'm trying to convert Dune Sea and add my own creative touches to it, like custom lighting, vehicles, heroes, gamemodes, extra objects, etc. I'm not looking to create a custom era/faction

You are most likely experiencing the same issue detailed here with another animated SWBF1 asset: http://www.gametoast.com/viewtopic.php?p=342367#p342367

OK, I think I'm on to something, I tried adding in anim files for the sarlacc tentacles. This is my anim file:

Yeah. At the time I was really inexperienced, but it pushed me off manually converting BF1 maps. I'd probably go back to it now

Well, for objects, lighting and vehicles then yeah, no problem, I get it, sorry man.

This is the only map I've worked on that has a constant crashing problem in ZE. A few minutes ago, I moved the camera in front of the homestead. I tried adding in a command post to CTF, and when I went to place the CP, ZE crashed.

It's all good.
