Teancum is right, just build a new skeleton with the same bone, root, effector names, and same hierarchy. This is most important. The new skeleton must be named and setup exactly the same as the stock template. The bones also need to have the same Rotation values.

Example

Template Skeleton, bone_neck: R x= 89.7 degrees

New Skeleton, bone_neck: R x= 89.7 degrees

The new skeleton's bone_neck needs to have the same rotation as the template bone_neck (or whatever other bone is there). Otherwise weird things happen ingame. The reason is the game uses the rotation values to determine the animations. For my elite, the bone_head is verticle instead of horizontal. When I had it horizontal on the old skeleton, the head stared straight up as that was the rotation value in the animation for that bone.

Just use Unit_Template_Beta and adjust the bones however you like to fit your character and export a new basepose with your new configuration as well, the animations pull bone location data from the basepose.

So a basepose is just the bones without unit I'm guessing?

I think I'll go without a grunt for now, too confusing.

its doesnt nmatter, if thge units mesh is included in the basepose or not, just scale the bones as you want and export (export animstions, export fk animations) call the mesh basepose, munge it, take it as scelleton for your unit and you are done!

Got a Halo 1 style marine model by the maker of the spartan model also used.(Have it mostly textured(need help on face and rigging).

If anyone knows where I can find some haloish weapons or props, that'd be a help.(Or anyone willing to help on rigging the marine or texture the face)

Completely scrapped Battle Creek to start over on it.

You know what would be crazy awesome? A space battle above, with pelicans and whatever the transport ship is for the covenant, the capitol ship for the spartans could be a frigate, but idk what a covenant ship would be.
