Same game engine. Which I don't mind. And the E3 gameplay looked really impressive.
I meant plot-wise. Modern Warfare and WWII are very different.

All World War II games are the same. Germans bad and dis-honerable heathens, The Allies are all good honorable fighters who pwn the Germans blah blah blah blah blah. Oh well, World at War was a good game and who doesn't like killing zombies!?!

Me.
I bought WaW due to its a CoD Game.I played all CoD Games and they are all great in Storys, nice Missions and Gameplay.
and really how cares about it,that we are mostly in WW-2 Games, the bad Gemans.Me,not.You cant reverse the Time

I need to say that the Infinity Ward CoD Games are better than the Games from Treyarch.WaW is by Treyarch but its pretty awesome but that Zombie Part in WaW`s last Level was ...... äh mäh.Defending the old House was Way mäh.They could let have let it out of WaW.
If i want to run stupid around to slauther Zombies,i would play L4D.Its the same stupid Carnage but its packed in a Game and thats Fun.
@ Null1138:
For me it looks the same than Modern Wafare (1) Engine but not like WaW Engine.I could be wrong.

I would guess it's an upgraded version of the engine, if it were simply the same engine, then it would make more sense as an addon for MW1.
On another note, I know that the blood and gore from WAW is coming back.
Though I think you can turn it off, as with WAW. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are wrong. You can`t disable Blood.
All you can change is Bulett Impacts and Number of Corpse.Thats all.

apparently Waw was a collosal failure for the cod franchise but I still love the game

I wouldn't call World at War a collosal failure. It was a good game, it's just that it was a small step back on chain of awsomeness.

Call of Duty 3 was terrible from what I've heard, so I wouldn't call a one-game streak of MW1 "a chain of awesomeness"

Well, in the sense of the stage that was set by Infinity Ward, with Call of Duty 2 (which was actually good), Modern Warfare, and now MW2. I'd call that a chain of awsome, in my own opinion of course, it just seems to me like Infinity Ward does a much better job with the franchise than Treyarch ever has.

Yeah, I saw that a couple days ago. I really like how you can completely control your airstrikes. Not sure I like the idea of sticky grenades, though. This is not Halo.

The best award is $$$, and most of the time that's the one the devs want to see the game win.

Indeed. You need to remember that game developping is primarely a bussines and, though there are exceptions (like this whole forum), bussinesses need money to survive, and produce a new and better product.

WaW only sold more units than CoD4 because Modern Warfare paved the path for more successful CoD series games. (Without MW, WaW would not have sold, but rather be seen as "another one of those World War games.")
