This seems like fun, but I'm a little hesitant to just go with it right away. Do you know where I can go to get some more information?
Hidden/Spoiler:
Also, you really don't need to call us "gentlemen." I mean, it's nice, but a little too formal, I think, especially if you want to do this for fun.

Hey what is going on guys. This is Twinkeyrunaway of the now revealed 411Remnant mod video channel. I come before you gentlemen today to show you and explain in more detail what we do and what we would like to do for you guys at gametoast.

For starters we would like to welcome you here to the new channel that has been under construction for a little over a week now. The channel is designed and operated by myself Twinkey runaway along with a select few other trusted individuals.

Link:
http://www.youtube.com/user/411Remnant

Now why should you care about some other gameplay channel? Well for starters we like to think that we are doing different things. One of which is that we wish to work with the modders of this community to produce HD quality videos for their projects. This also includes interviews about the modders themselves and to help widen the support for projects like “Mass Effect unification” and “Dark Times 2” for example. We have several segments and content planned for this channel to help you guys. Here is a preview for our gameplay quality and few other things.

Link:

hi res video w/o effects or intro
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dyzt5zG9s28

Now we like to give credit in its fullest to everyone who has helped produce a mod and we are also careful not to produce false information. So with every video, we will include credits, download links and links to other channels showcasing the same content. Something we thought would be cool is including promotional art like this :
http://411remnant.deviantart.com/#/d5gjncv

with every video review. All custom and free of charge by yours truly and a few other graphic artists.

“There has to be a catch?”
Well there really isn’t. I mean if you want us to produce HD vids for your mods/projects, we probably wont object because this is something being done for run and we figure its our way to give to all of you who have given to us all these cool mods.
‘What about popularity??? Im not sure if I want to be part of it because its im not sure if it will get views…”

Well what kind of people would we be if we cared solely about that lol? What this channel is doing is producing content at a good and steady pace. We want to make sure we produce quality, not quantity. With this mentality, we wish to take this nice and steady and to make sure everything is up to quality. I like to think this is like making a mod, taking the time to make sure it’s at its best and taking suggestions to make it better. To answer your question, nothing starts off with a bunch of views at first but we hope that at the least it will be a fun experience so you guys will enjoy it.

“But wait we burly know you, how do we know we can trust you or maybe your kinds of reviews are different from our own?’

Ah yes, well thats why we also would like to work with some of you. We have positions for mod reviewers who will be credited and given their own cool graphic in video. What we like to do is have several people review the same mod and organize it with a script so we produce something that is essentially reviewed by the community. Everyone that has contributed their opinion or parts of the review will be credited. I know Maveritchell and a few others like to review things because they are experienced modder themselves, it would be cool to have a joint review of casual players and people who have experience.

“What else do you guys have planned? Just reviews and interviews?”

We have several other things planned or are currently underway. This includes a top 5 kind of thing, gameplays, walkthroughs , tips and tricks and a few other things to keep it interesting. And if you want to contribute or be a part of these, please leave a post/comment below. For this we are also recruiting people who can record good video and would like to contribute their own top 5 thingy’s.

‘How do I help? Or what can I do if I wanted to be apart of this?”

Well what we basically would like your help in if you want to be a part of this thing, you need to provide a link to some of your mods into a pm and tell us a little about yourself. You want us to promote your project/maps? Just send a pm and we will do our part. We are in need of graphic artists who want to help us make promotional/fan art for fun.

“ How does being interviewed work?”

Interviews will be done at random though we have a good idea of who we want to interview first. (We usually come to you, but if your eager go ahead and send a pm) We ask that you tell us the manner we interview you, of what kind of interview you would like. For example we can do pm interviews where we have voice talents say your part(credit and stuff will be given) or we can do skype interviews where you talk to one us and we record the convo(Preferred but not necessary). Also you could just send us an audio file of answered interview questions and we edit that into a video. Either way works.

“Do you guys show professional conduct? Like no cussing?”

Yes, I have made it clear that we do not cuss to the other members. Incase a word slips out, I always make sure to bleep it out so younger audiences can see it with out worry.

“Who do I talk to if I want to upload vids to this channel as well?”
You talk to me, but first I have to see your quality of video. Sometimes if it isn’t the best quality, I can use my editing software to make it look more appealing.

“I know you want something…”
Well something we thought would be cool is if maybe Maveritchell would consider having this channel be truly apart of gametoast, like one of the channels that gametoast supports officially. If that became the case, we would allow some trusted admins from here to have access to this account and they could upload content to as well. This would be cool, but if he doesn’t think this channel should be part of gametoast in this way, that’s cool. We still want to show our support to the mods here.

“Im not all that sure I like your ideas.”

That’s the beauty of it. We wish to build this with the suggestions of others, so if you have an idea or suggestion, we will do our best to try them out. Idea’s that are given will be credited to the appropriate people. Also the way the channel is right now, it is still under construction and a lot of things are subject to change based on feedback. So you may see some updated stuff and design fairly soon. Right now it is at a presentable state and as I type, more is being done and I think you will like the changes when we make them. You guys are our test audience, so feel free to discuss what ever.

This is pretty much it so what do you guys think and do you have any other questions?
So far people aboard are:
ArctrooperNate
GAB
Willinator
Dreadnot9
Glitch
Forsakensith

Thanks for wanting to support my mod!

I'm all for this as long as good mics are purchased, preferably a condenser microphone. :P Being a professional means being a professional in all areas including legibility, being able to clearly understand what's being said. :) I use a Samson C01U USB Studio Condenser Mic. It's affordable and great.

I'd also like to know a few things about the software you guys are using to do this stuff, such as recording and editing video and audio.

As far as I know, there's nothing in the way of any "official" support of any channels. All we ever have here are individual users showing videos from their own channels. We used to have a GT Youtube group, but it's been long since abandoned.

@Maveritchell

Well I had this gametoast ending credit made. I don't suppose we could use that and direct people back here?

@Marth

I have talked this over with several members. I do not own a mic like that yet and I am planning to get one like the one you suggested once I have the money (Kind of in a tight spot atm). But I have commentators with good clear voices and better mics than I, so we will work with that. The Video editing software I use is Sony Vegas pro 11, so I am kind of the tech guy at the moment. I use a recording software called Dxtory and it works fairly well especially with some of my newer settings. As for the rest of team, they use the Full version of Bandicam which was used in the Test video 1. So they just record and upload and if they need to, they will use windows movie maker just to add in the intro I created for this group. You and a few other have suggested that the voices become clearer and louder, so what I will do is use audacity to improve the audio quality for voices. This will result in only recording our voices after game play has been recorded.

So far I have been receiving a lot of feedback and I am acting on that feedback to improve a few things. I believe a newer test video will be done and a test interview will be completed by next friday (Reason being that late is because several members and myself have college stuff/work to get out of the way this week).

Is there anymore questions?

Will the grammar throughout the channel be the same quality as that of your first post? :P

I'm all for a BF2 mods channel, although honestly I probably wouldn't be very involved in it.

Not bad, but a few things caught my attention especially: there should be subtitles - via YouTube or rendered into the video, preferably the former - and try to tone down the noise a little in the voice over. If you send me the raw, unedited audio, I can figure out a more legible "radio chatter" effect for you to use with a helpful mix of Ableton Live and Audacity. ;) Another thing: I'd lower the music bus gain by about 7.5dB. Heck, if you'd like, I can take care of all the audio work for these things.

I agree completely; I never really have the audio on because there are always random popups that appear out of nowhere in some wind I have open and start blasting corny music so it would be really nice to have subtitles please :D

We can always use someone with that kind of talent and experience with audio. The official version of this will be worked into a scripted audio series made to be like a radio station for storm troopers(kinda like an audio book, but with a comedic twist). Right now the files are useless because well....I deleted them but when I do work on this ill send you a pm Marth. This feedback is helping tremendously!

A cool person called Revan made me a greenscreen map and so like I can use a storm trooper as the talk host or whatever you call it for this short "modding" type news thing. Which is what I originally attended to do with this.

Edit:- 10-15-12

A little update! Tests are pretty much done. For a few days we will be showcasing AQT's RAS Prosecutor Hangers featuring all of its game modes. I can't say too much about future videos, but I can assure you that they will blow some people's minds and we will present them in honest representations.

Also the youtube background has been changed to something a little more eye popping. We would love any kind of suggestions! A lot of you gentlemen took the time to help us and we will forever be in your debt.

We would like to thank the following for assisting us with a few things.

ArcTrooperNate
Wulfman
Marth
GAB
Yuke
CressAlbane
DreadNot9
Willinator
Bob

So far I'm really liking the videos, keep up the great work!
It might be kind of cool if you had mod "reviews" so to speak. Where you mainly focus on talking about the pros and cons of the mod, and then give a rating based on it's category (you can't compare an individual map to a side mod too easily).

Thanks, well today we made one of our videos public. Unfortunately we may have to chill out on the vids seeing as hurricane sandy took out 2 of my recorders electricity. lol but I am still working on certain...projects for you guys.
