So, who plays? Who's excited about the Sniper / Spy Update?

Steam link

Discuss.

I don't play it(yet?), but I'm always tracking Valve games (they are my favorite games developer).

The first Spy update was genius, they managed to put a plot twist in an update for a game, that's... impressive. :P

I think a bow is a strange weapon for a Sniper, uh, but that's just Valve trying to add some variety to the classic Sniper gameplay.

I play off and on, but I'm getting a bit more into it. So I can't give a good enough opinion on the update until I get used to playing as each class and how they work. I'm currently a lousy spy, and barely played sniper.

When I did play, I loved it. I stopped playing as I generally only game during the summer (i.e. nothing else to do). It was great fun to see people get blown to bits for random reasons in the servers where all they were doing was getting unlocks :D

Maybe I'll come back to it this summer, probably not. I generally play GMOD and other random games during the summer. I shall try to find a new MMOFPS to get involved in for the summer and play that a bit, but, seeing as where life has taken me over the last year, I highly suspect that my agenda will be much different.

The graphics are great though, I love the use of toon style in a FPS.

Yeah, I love TF2. The new update isn't very good in my opinion because the idea of gaining weapons via "random events" isn't as well thought out as the achievement way.

I did the free pre-load offer that's up this weekend to try it out. If i like it, I might purchase it. (if I have the hard drive space....)

The mmo type drops are pretty fail. (And will be more fail when they give them random stats.)

Already found 2 kritz, 1 sandman, 1 natasha, and 1 flare gun -.-

Gimme the Diet Dr. Pepper new weapon unlocks, not weapons I already have. :O

EDIT: +1 killer boxing gloves and +1 Cloak and Dagger watch.

The new item system is sooooo broken it's just plain dumb. Atleast when you farmed achievements you had to still work for them. But whatever, work with what you got.

I haven't played much, like 30mins or so, because I got back from Greece a few days ago.

I've played probably 30 hours and have maybe 5-10 items, 2 of which are new items, and the rest are duplicates.

10+ hours played and only 2 items, Cloak and Dagger, and the Razorback. Considering I haven't played TF2 consistently until this update, those are the only unlocks I have. Yet in the same game some people got 3 or more items and played for less time then me. I guess the random drops just hate me :P.

I don't have the game, but I really want to get it. Mainly because of the Meet the Team videos. Meet the spy was genius, and I played with a friend, and the ambassador rocks!

I was finally able to figure out that if I turn off HDL effects, I can get it to work on my crappy computer a few days ago. I don't really mind the drop system, but that could just be because I don't have any duplicates yet. So if you see a Pyro with my name, that's me.

I'm not a fan of the new system, but whatever. I got the cloak and dagger and that thing is amazing.

The hats are pretty awesome too from what I've seen.

Also I don't do the idle servers for items, so it's annoying to actually play for 2 hours and get nothing.

Well I got famous on the Steam TF2 forums today. The cause of my fame? This post:
Hidden/Spoiler:
I wrote this up in a fit of rage after another duplicate.

Meet the Random Drop System

Announcer: Update Alert! Valve fixing Drop System!

Soldier: What? Valve's fixing the drop system?

Announcer: Get ready to update!

Soldier: We better get ready to update!

Scout: Yo, a little help here?

Soldier: Stand back son. Start Menu, All Programs, Steam, um... Steam!

Scout: Let's go! Let's go!

Heavy: FINALLY!

*They break down door*

Scout: Aww... it was a troll!

Spy: Gentlemen.

*Intro theme*

Spy: I see the drop system is not fixed. Tell me, did anyone happen to get a new weapon on the way here? No? Then we still have a problem.

*Shows them his backpack full of duplicates*

Scout: Ooo. A duplicate! Big problem eh? I get plenty of 'em. The useless, delete-right-after-you-get-'em phonies. Like you! Ow! No offense...

Spy: If you managed to delete them I assure you, they were not like me. And not like the random drop system forced upon this game!

Scout: What, are you a fan of the system?

Spy: No, that would be your mother!

*Throws pictures of Scout's mom cheering Valve employees as they code the system*

*Scout is surprised*

Spy: Indeed. And now Valve wants to *beep* with us! So listen up boy, or photographs showing your mother's treachery will be the second worse thing to happen to you today.

*Spy lights cigarette*

Spy: They have already stolen our milestones...

*Shows a conference room where Valve employees are crossing out milestone achievements*

Spy: They have ruined our achievement farming...

*Shows obscene chat on an achievement server*

Spy: Worst of all, we have to wait for the new content...

*Shows an achievement_idle server*

Spy: We could have to wait hours, days! We could even have to wait...

*Soldier shoots Spy*

Soldier: What? It was obvious. He implemented the new system! Watch... we'll get our new weapons any second now... Any second... See? New weapons! No wait... those are duplicates...

Heavy: So we still have baby system?

Soldier: I guess. Alright. Who's ready to go whine on the forums?

*Scout undisguises as Robin Walker*

Robin Walker: Right behind you!

*TF2 theme*

*Robin picks up pictures*

Robin: Ah, les faire souffrir.

Enjoy!
:funny2: Great parody, you (or someone else) should dub the Meet the Spy video with that.

Well, Valve always supported the community, I'm sure they will fix it.

I'm actually thinking of getting the game, or at least when they fix this *beep*.

Oh, it's fine for new players. In fact, I think that was there audience for this update.

In other words, get it.
