so how is your multiplayer online community in a game(or games) you play? as in how are the players, the game, safety (no viruses/hackers right?), and overall fun of the game? so everyone are you ready to show off how great (or greatly horrible...) your fellow gamers that you play with or against are?
Hidden/Spoiler:
(offtopic and to an admin or modderator: did i get this in the right spot i seem to never do so please correct me if i am wrong, i useually post in off-topic when it should have when in the game discussion one) (wow long P.S)

As much as I love Xbox Live, online console gaming is plagued by the ability to talk to each other online. I like being able to talk to my friends, but I hate all the trash talkers, newbies, and "gangsta" talkers and high pitched kiddes. Who are you and why should I listen to you? Yeah. VERY irritating. That pretty much covers all online games I play anymore. I can't remember the last time I played SWBF2 online - it's been a few years - but I miss the quiet. I can ignore text, but I hate having to set voice to friends only on every game I play online.

as promised i will explain my comunity online...

the community stinks now all the great people left. then after steam came out tons of people started playing but they don't know about rpgs, no flag, or ethics. the whole game is filled with hackers it is a good thing i know all admins commands and know how to stop hackers so i am safe but others don't know them so i have to go around saving people. there is also a random hacker who keeps stealing my name. there is also no respect or manners in the people left all they do is take people from servers to their own and call anyone who can beat them a noob for no reason... it is sad that the community has degraded to such a low level i wish someone could fix it :(

I find my self seeming like an old rambling man reminising about the old days when the game used to have mature people actually playing and it was all fun even the hackers were nice (i even made friends with a no name :D)

The SWBF2 online community has particularly become bad...

Dont like online gaming, because of reasons mentioned above.
Play online only with my friends.

I've noticed the Team Fortress 2 PC community is actually fairly laid back. I mean sure, you get the occasional troll or the raunchy anime spray every now and then, but compared to other online communities, it's fairly well-mannered.

Halo Reach. 10 year old newbies with high pitched voices rampant. Can't give my own voice any commendations, though. I sound like any early-teen. I wonder what CoD's community is like. Although I do have the option of having quiet and polite as my psych profile in Reach, it's inevitable to be playing with little kids. :|

With Reach it's easier to just find a bunch of friends and set your mic to team and party, or if you don't have any and can overcome not having teamwork, mute self.

My strategy for dealing with Xbox Live is "guilty until proven innocent," because all the jerks are on a new game for at least a year, only after the game loses popularity can you find level headed people.

Battlefield Heroes. Pretty laid back ingame, can get a bit over competitive, often in stark contrast with the games "casual" intentions. As for the forum community? It's fairly overwhelming. Battlefield Play 4 Free is pretty chill as of now, mostly because not too many trolls get beta keys to my knowledge (although those that do can be really bad), but that'll probably be over when the game goes public.

It drives me nuts when kids start using the rocket launcher. Honestly, I always though I was the guy for the Assault Rifle. Boy, was I wrong. I'm actually better with the Magnum and DMR. I've gotten at least 3 triple kills in matchmaking from the magnum alone. If anything, Big Team is something to stay away from. Unfortunately, I was wrongfully banned for an hour today from Matchmaking. I have AT&T, and the connection was doing bad for the past two days, and I was automatically disconnected several times and others were lagging hysterically, forcing me to quit. Should I do anything?

Was this meant for this thread or the Halo Reach thread? Because it sort of makes sense in both...

Tried Borderland's community? Everyone and their dog uses modded shields and weapons effectively destroying the online experience. (I'm a 63 with no mods =D)

Lately I have been playing two online games: Team Fortress 2 and Project Reality (which is actually a mod for Battlefield 2)

The brazilian Team Fortress 2 community is... ah, it used to be better, nowadays you will se plenty of annyoing people who have no qualms with randomly insulting other players and using aim-bots or whatever. The problem here is lack of moderators, our old servers used to have good moderators, but they were taken down, now we have to rely mainly on underground fan-sites to provide good servers to play, and they don't really care about fair play. A shame, I really like Team Fortress 2, but I feel no joy in playing it anymore, I guess I could try to play in foreign servers, but then I would have to deal with the lag.

The brazilian Project Reality community is AWESOME, simple as that. Everyone is mature, polite, and easygoing, there are no cheaters, and there's lots of moderators online everyday. Lately there have been a lot of newbies in the game, most of them are cool, some of them are kinda silly and have this inexplicable urge to try and pilot aircraft (one of the most complicated things in the game), even though they have no experience whatsoever, but this can be easily solved by either telling them to stop or temporarily banning them, in case they refuse to cooperate.
I have been playing PR a lot lately, I have made many friends playing the game, I even got a couple invites for some clans, and I'm seriously considering joining them.

wow this thread is still alive well while it is here is my post

I have recently seen the star wars battlefront 2 community getting better. all the hackers are gone (mainly removed by me). the only problem now is the clan war thing it is like the cold war no one shoots but yet they have their finger right on the shiny red button. i can deal with a cold war but the hackers got annoying.

wow i just noticed that the only annoying thing that i have left in my life at all is my brother and i am not removing him :D

What version do you play on? I know 1.0 is HEAVY with the clan war stuff. It's like drama central. But 1.1 is fairly laid back. It's dominated by a few big clans, with only a handful of smaller clans who actually spar with each other, but it's never "clan wars," just a friendly match between two clans. A "fun war," if you will.

i play 1.1 i never saw 1.0 though but how long has it been since u played right now it is a cold war like setting...

edit: what you said reminded me of how the community was about a year ago. everyone nice and just some fun wars, mod tests, ffas, and just fun stuff to play. now all i do is try to get the community back the way it used to be. it will take awhile though
