Copy map as it is?

Would it be possible to send the wld file to a friend to replace his (if he has the same props/objects in his folders)?
Is it more complicated?

It would be more advised to send the whole "world1" folder, but yes, that will work fine provided he has what you say.

I think he might also need to change his lua to read the new world file the same way as outlined in the "How to Edit a Shipped Map" tutorial in the FAQ thead.

Yes that is a given if he wants to run the map, he doesn't need that if he just wants to edit it, though.
