Pretty sure only one can be exported

With what? Mshex, XSI, Maya, Gmax, Sketchup?

using xsi mod tools and of course, converting it with mshex

in XSI and battlefront you cna have as many textures on an object as you want (shurely there is a limit but i dont think youll reach it) but i dont think Meshex can handle more than one texture per model

it looked like in the texturing tutorial that he had multiple textures.

I do not know where this comes from; nearly every model I make I export with MshEx and almost all of them have multiple textures.

I remember reading that in the MshEx release thread in Rep's post about what it can and can't do, but it may have been outdated or I may have misread it. At any rate, if you've managed to export models with multiple textures, then it must be possible.

Edit: Here's what I was thinking of:
There has to be one and only one texture projection (can someone say how to collapse a lot of them into one explicit uv map?)
So I'm thinking I probably misread it.

The confusion comes up because the wording says "projection." Really as long as you have one single polymesh, you'll be ok, because all your textures should be merged together on that.

Yeah, you can have multiple .tgas, but not multiple texture maps (aka sets of UVs) (ie: Cubic projection) and if you want to use more than one, then you have to merge all of your polymshes and make sure that all of the edits are FROZEN or else it could get screwed up.

ok so if i do unique uv projection for every object i can safely have several textures?
