Sound problems

Post by PvtParts »

I'm not sure if this thread is out of place (a massive multi person pm instead?) but I need some help, but dont have the time (gotta get up for school at 6) to type out all of my questions. And since odds are ill be wasting my fingers, im just going to throw the general idea out, and if anyone is willing to seriously look into this with me, ill devulge more info.

Basically, sound problems. I can get general sounds to work, I understand the sound system fine, I got that much. My understanding level is about what is described in Rends tutorial.

My problem is, getting the right sounds, and getting them to work. I cant seem to do this, and with the dod gamn unlabled sounds (half of finding the right sound is guessing and "thinking smartly" or what Rends said), im always having conflicting sound calls, leading to a crash, with an error log as usefull as stale oreos.

So if anyone wants to offer a hand, ill explain what exactly I need, and maybe you can help me out.

I'm having the same issues. I've run through Rends' tut 3 times to try to get sounds on a 'local'. Maybe units or monsters(locals) need to be done a different way. I've gotten them to work using their native lvl exclusively, but I'm already using a lvl file for the music and the rest of the sound. Has anyone gotten 'locals' to work using their own modid.lvl?

Ive sort of figured out, at least what you need to call for.

Use a text editor like UltraEdit to open the .snd files. You can see what each unit/thing requires.
