Video Settings

Upon starting any map, I look at my video settings: all as low as possible.

That's not exactly what I want, so I set them to as high as possible, and it works perfectly: no crashes, no lag, etc.

Then I close BF2, or even just move on to the next map in the cycle, and the settings are all reset. How can I fix this so I can avoid having to reset them each time I start a map?

I always run SWBF2 in safe mode, so I'm not troubled about the CD. I have the disc around here somewhere, if I need it to change settings....

That's the problem. Safe mode is a minimum setting mode utilized to prevent potential problems caused by using settings that your system can't handle, more or less.

I wonder if any video settings need to be adjusted for my problem. For me, when I play maps such as alderaan, bespin escape, ect. - the ground is way to bright, its almost like white and when I look back at the screen shots on the threads of whatever site I got them from, thats not what they look like at all. Yes, lightbloom is set to off and my screen isnt even set that bright. Anybody know what else I can do?

fiodis, you can run it without the disk using battlefrontII.exe instead in BFIILaunch.exe, you can even map xfire to run it that way. I havent used the CD in a few years and play everyday.

It depends on your battlefrontII.exe version if it will ask for the CD/DVD or not. There are at least 3 different versions of the v1.1 exe...

My "research" shows that anyone with a CD version that comes patched to 1.1 can run with xfire without the CD.
