CTF Arena #3: Water

This is the third map in a series of CTF-only maps. CTF Arena #3 is set on the surface of a serene pond resplendent with grasses and lily pads. The map, with two command posts (may increase to four), is larger than the previous arenas and the battle stretches across the entire surface of the pond. Players will be able to use the watery environment for sneak attacks and alternate routes.

The map isn't as complete as the other arenas yet, but it's certainly over 50% and I wanted to post it. I still need to script some events, animate a few objects, and create a few more models.

If anyone has any suggestions to beautify the edge (Outer Rim, if you will) of the pond, please let me know! It already has foliage, but I'm nervous about putting it on the sloped part as it can look very ugly when the foliage meets the water.

First and foremost, this looks pretty freakin great! :o Fantastic job so far! :thumbs: Some rocks or broken docks or something could do some justice to beautify the edges of the pond. Also, have you added directional lighting yet? :o It's difficult to tell.

There isn't really a plausible source of directional lighting right now, so I haven't added one. Good idea with the docks; I'll likely add some in!

While I definitely understand your thoughts about it, you have to keep in mind that if there isn't really a plausible source for the light, then the entire map should realistically be pitch black, since there has to be some sort of light somewhere, typically a sun lol. I'd probably take Kashyyyk's main .LGT file and push it somewhere el-- err, and apply its contents to your map's.

The SWBFI Kashyyyk Docks and bamboo would look great on this map. That is just my suggestion though. Looks great, Cress!

Grabbed some values from the Kashyyk sky and tweaked them a bit; the result is this!

Much better, methinks. Turns out I did have a directional light before, but it wasn't set to cast shadows.

I'm digging it as well. Are the water lilly leaves reskinned Kashyyk platforms?
