Can I change my name somehow? Cause my gamer tag changed a while ago and I havent been on since it changed so now im annoyed at Imperial Modder and want Happy Green Lama to be born into the hands of the site.

An admin could, but they usually don't. Users could be confused if someone changes their name comletely.

Yep, I make it personal policy to never change anyone's username. Other admins will on extremely rare occasions, but I won't even reply to PMs to do so.

I think that's a definite no. I did ask myself a while ago, but was refused. Don't even bother.

They are very rarely going to use it.

It's how the forum system works. When an administrator is appointed, they can modify almost anything on the website, being given access to those priveliges.

It is not used because Guru and admins would be swamped with requests to change names etc.

There really is only one sure way to get a name change and that is to donate a minimum of $100 to Gametoast to help offset the expenses of running the site.

AFAIK, those were allowed because they changed DarthRogueKnight to RougeKnight and DEVISS-REX to Deviss, not Mr_Flamingo to Ultimate_Destroyer. See the difference? Much less confusion with those two.

To be frank, there are good reasons to change and there are bad reasons. Most of the time, the admins just don't care about the reason and we're not going to make the change - your username is your username, and it's important to maintain consistency.

It can't hurt to ask, but keep in mind that you'll probably get a "no," you may just be ignored, and that the ones that do get a change are in the small minority. It's easier to just assume that the answer will be "no" and work on making your username less important than your body of work and contributions to the community.

Got my "Darth" removed a couple of years back because I used to be good friends with Penguin. To be honest, pick a user name you are going to stick with and will not cause issues in the future.

I dropped my commander_ a while back. It just didn't look professional with the moderator color. I didn't ask for a completely different name though, which is the main point.

Seriously, on other forums it's almost impossible to tell who people are when they have the privilege to do this. Imagine if someone like Deathrow got the ability to do this, he'd be changing his name to clan leaders' names and claiming that the clan is over because he was hit by a plane every day.

Slightly OT:

There's another forum that I frequent that was renovated for a few weeks last summer. After the site was back up people could change their own usernames whenever they wanted. The combination of frequent username and avatar changes made it **** near impossible to know who anyone was... it was very frustrating.
